Questions about Mueller?

Hey guys.. i'm in a keepers fantasy league and i have the 5th pick in the draft (traded up) cuz i won the league last year...

I'm really interested in Peter Mueller.. can you guys give me some feedback on the guy. I know he was lights out after he join the Avs.. I'm not a Avs fan and i don't really see any of your games on tv since i'm in Canada..

I figure the top 4 picks will be Hall, Seguin, Sharp and Niemi ... is Mueller a better choice long term then let say.. Zherdev or Sharp??

For fantasy purposes, I would pick Sharp over Mueller. Proven player against talent that has only periodically shown good play.

thanks for the input.. but I have a feeling that Sharp will be gone with the 4th pick.. I want to sign Mueller to a long term contract.. so would you say that in 2 years.. Mueller could become a consistant 70 pts guy?

His concussion issues and consistency issues are still matters that he needs to overcome. No one knows. If the concussions aren't an issue and if his consistency is there, he's a 60-70 point guy perennially, I think.

I have two concerns with Mueller, first, how will he respond to that nasty concussion that ended his season, and second, how will his play change once he gets comfortable in Denver with a new contract and an established role on the team. If he fully recovers and matures as a player, then I think he could be a 70 pt player.

EDIT: haha, slow on the reply, pretty much just what thedoctor said.

Ok so basically the guy is a High risk and High reward type of player.. The problem i have is that I pick 5th then only pick 38th after..

I want to make sure to have a solid pick with my first rounder

but to tell you the truth my team is stacked

Spezza
Backstrom
Toews
Sedin

Sedin
Elias
Gagne
Gaborik
Antropov
Iginla
Smyth
Eriksson

Doughty
Boyle
Kaberle
Rafalski
Myers

Brodeur
S. Mason
T. Thomas
J. Markstrom

Mueller has much more upside than those two guys. But Sharp is the safest pick and will still get you 60 points.

EDIT, given your team I'd go with Mueller. Sharp isn't significantly better than any of those guys, so it's worth the risk on Mueller. He could possibly supplant a lot of those wingers.

I assume of course that you put a RW on LW etc.

Any word on him resigning? What do you think the deal will be? Between 2-3 mil for a couple of years? I think thats where the Coyotes are at with Hanzel. Muells is a way better scorer, though.

Better not be over 2 million.

Don't really care about his nice late season run. At the end of the day, he still only scored 37 points. He needs to earn his real contract.

Any updates from Mueller since his injury?

Did he get post-concussion syndrome?
