Mikhail Grabovski (decent center)

We are in win now mode trading Carter does not make sense unless it's for a goalie who can actually make saves/steal games.

See... I'm thinking more like Jeff Carter for Tomas Vokoun (assuming that Florida isn't in the hunt for a playoff spot) at the deadline. We are loaded with goalie prospects and we don't really need another.

Okay, then take out Jussi Rynass and substitute Gustavsson and I start to take it more seriously....but sill only for like ten seconds before I say no.

Also, we already have a couple of guys like Sjostrom on the roster right now. Powe and Betts are both very capable skaters who handle a lot of PK duties. Freddie would be redundant on our roster, and adds zero value to the trade for us, so the Leafs are better off hanging onto him, since he is a useful player.

Even that is a bad deal. A 25/26 year old RFA Carter for a 34/35 year old UFA Vokoun........I wouldn't do it.

If I trade Carter it is for an established goalie who puts us in a better position to win the cup.

I would love to hear who you would trade Carter for.

The Flyers are not going to trade Carter, probably their best all around forward, for a rental goalie at the deadline.

For a team that was rebuilding, you might make a trade like this for two raw young players, but for a team on the verge, pass.

This is the stupidest proposal I've ever heard. A bunch of Leaf garbage for one of our best players. Wow, as a Canadian, I am embarrassed for you.

I can't even think of a package the Leafs could offer for which I'd trade Carter - since you don't even have next year's lottery pick available.

There are not a lot of players that other teams would be interested in giving up that I would trade Carter for. Mostly because assets like Carter are coveted by teams.

Vokoun + 1st is honestly what it would take for me to let Carter go at the deadline next year, and that is with the thought in mind that the Panthers aren't going to be very good at all (high pick). I don't think many Panthers fans would like that idea. I see most of them wanting to do Carter for Vokoun straight up, which is pretty much us getting bent over with no lube.

From the reasonable Leafs fans (surprise, there are some out there), I apologize for this horrible proposal. It was not right to waste your time with it.

Good luck this year, Guys and Girls, hopefully the Flyers and Leafs will be meeting in the playoffs soon.
