As in the title, should we take a stab at getting greiss now that SJ have aquired nitty and niemi?
I presume it wouldn't take a monster deal to get him from the sharks, and i would take him over boosh any day of the week should the proverbial **** hit the fan.

It would be an interesting young goalie who hasn't had a real shot. I thought he did as good as he could in the Olympics given he gets limited action. If they get him, it'll be because they claimed him off waivers when one of Leighton or Boucher got hurt.
I think greiss is a very good goaltender that has always been in the shadow of nabby his entire career. In the olympics he did just as well as any keeper could of done in his situation. facing 179 shots in 3 games is a tough ask for any keeper in the world.
Greiss is unproven, if they plan on sticking w/ Leighton I really want to see them get a guy like Theodore, just so we have some semblance of competition because let's face it boosh ain't it.

Leighton/Theodore is an improvement over Leighton/Boosh.

Not by much, but it's something.
Especially considering Leighton has never been a starter for a full season. If he gets hurt they gotta give some time to Bob rather then trot Boucher out there to be slaughtered.

You realize we have Backlund, right? If Leighton goes down then Bobrovsky isn't gonna get a call up. Backlund will. Or at least should.
Greiss looked like a friggin world beater last year in that game against us at the beginning of the year, and really good in the Olympics. I'm for it...what would San Jose want?
Except Homer doesnt bluff...at all. Or atleast he tries to but everyone can easily tell what he is going to do. In this case you can easily see he is confident in 2 career backup goalies.
Either way my answer is yes, I would offer a third and a fifth or perhaps a prospect defenseman. He is a decent goalie from the little pro action I've seen of him and that SJ goaltending stable has produced some guys who maximized their talent.
Holmgren should be looking at every goaltender who might be available. No matter what, you should always be scouting options to improve your team, in every area.
Greiss is now the odd man out, and could be worthwhile. Certainly worth watching, if nothing else.
