Well this is news to me. Are they any good?

To Price signing; I think it's a good deal. Price is only 23 years old and I still strongly believe, despite the fact Halak outplayed him in the playoffs, that in a few years he is going to be one of the elite goalies out there.

3 weeks into the season and Habs fans will be moaning that they should have kept Halak.

I guess people at the Bell Centre will probably boo Price if he let a really bad goal, oh well.

wrong.

Habs fans (or at least most of them..) understood why the Habs traded Halak. Look at what they recieved in return.

btw, excellent idea to create this thread.

If I was a Habs fan, I'd be upset already.

Was just going to say that. Too bad they all wanted their "hometown boy" back more than the player who got them through Pittsburgh and Washington

Montreal is probably looking at how things turned out with our dark horse goalie who came out of nowhere, got called up on injuries, had a spectacular partial season, got the #1 shortly afterward, and got a monster contract as his value skyrocketed.

TSN says a deal between the NHL and the PA has been reached and they're working on paper work for 5pm.

Seems as good of a place as any to ask:

Quote:
Vancouver Canucks $63,058,333 -3,658,333
Boston Bruins $66,087,771 -3,087,771.19
Calgary Flames $61,749,995 -2,349,995.33
Toronto Maple Leafs $64,129,167 -274,166.66
New York Rangers $61,646,667 -84,166.66
Whatcha think those teams are going to do in order to turn that negative number into a positive?

I'd hate to be the Flames right now. They're over the cap and very doubtful to make the playoffs. Do they have a lot of contracts expiring at the end of this year?

None of the big ones - Bouwmeester ($6.6), Iginla($7), Langkow ($4.5), Stajan ($3.5) and Regher ($4.02) expire. Calgary has 50 million tied up on 14 players.

Wow. They're gonna have to let Bourque walk. He was having a monster year until he got injured. That is some cap hell.

Not really sure if this goes here, but considering it regards a leafs fan, I'll put it here.

According to some guy, the player that we overrate the most on our team is...

Well it's probably a good thing that our most overrated player is someone we think will be a good third or fourth line center.
