Brad Richards is over rated and over paid. How does Schenn and Loktionov fit in the future? Or a 4th liner like Lewis or Cliche? Or Handzus if we re-sign him?

Well, the idea is he wouldn't be overpaid for long and I'm not looking to sign him to a long-term retirement deal or give up a lot for him in a trade.

Richards is not over rated when it comes to his offensive game.

But that doesn't mean i will take the next available player doesn't matter how awfull he is. Why to replace Stoll with Stoll...............
I even have a problem with Poni on the 1st line. When Williams is injured again
you have a pissed of Kopitar and you can count the days until he is gone to another club.

This is the problem we have since 17 years...... if we lure a quality player we pair him with garbage and he faces elite player against him every game night.
Nobody here would sign a contract extension under these circumstances.

Right now i'm a little bit out of ideas..........
UFA's gone ..... Lombardi has no balls for RFA...... and a trade isn't really an option.
We barely have a roster who is able to compete. Every trade would create a new hole somewhere else.

The only option i see now is to wait for divine intervention and by miracle get a trade where we get an 1st line player for some of our prospects
Or we try what we have and tell Murray to shut up.

Parse - Kopitar - Williams
Smyth - Richardson - Brown
Poni - Handzus - Simmonds
Clifford - Schenn - Stoll

that would be my season opener and i would go from here.
Parse showed some real hockey moments and he could be Moulson part deux.
The 2nd line would finaly delivering and take some pressure from Kopitar.
The 3rd line is ..... yeahh... our miracle 3rd line
and the 4th line is our wild line WHO is hungry and ready to show up..............

No more Ivanans or Clunes ... or whoever is payed to be the clown

How about Stoll and Moller for Fisher?

Savard is the exact opposite of Stoll almost. He's exactly what we need for our 2nd line, a playmaking, creative 2nd line center that can take the pressure off Anze and our 1st line.

Johnny...who gives a rat's ass about Trevor Lewis or Cliche when you've got a 91-point, Conn-Smythe winning 2nd line center? If Schenn is still here then he becomes a Jordan Staal-type figure as this team's 3rd line center. If Loktionov is still here, he gets moved to wing where he will probably end up anyways due to his size.

If you are looking at re-signing Richards or Handzus next Summer and you have a proven and/or ready Schenn, it's not a hard decision to make if the dollars are right for Richards...and I love Handzus.

We all know Richie will prob move to the wing and either Lewis/Cliche will be the 4th line center but when Handzus comes off the books next year Stoll is still in the equation and Schenn will for sure be....So you don't put Schenn on the 4th line or pay Stoll 3.5 million to play there either so....

Schenn is going to make the team THIS YEAR.

I don't see the problem you're talking about for 11-12. We'll be fine with Kopitar/Schenn/Stoll/Lewis down the middle. Or Handzus can be resigned and Stoll can be moved to wing. Richie/Lokti can play wing as well.

Hypothetically speaking about Richards also involves assuming players are going back to Dallas since they won't just hand him over. It could definitely be Mr. Stoll or anyone else mentioned in this post save for Kopitar and Schenn.

God this statement/assumption bothers me.

There is nothing wrong with ushering Schenn into the NHL on the 4th line for 1/2 to even a full season!

As much as it may bother, you know how much DL believes in learning through development in the minors/Jr's, and riding the bus. Only way Schenn makes this team, IMHO, is if he absolutely kills in training camp, which is only two weeks away. Woo Hoo!!!!!!

Lewis and Cliche have as good if not better chances for 4th line duties than Schenn.

I concur, unless Schenn is head and shoulders better than those he is competeing with in camp.

Because doing g what you've already done is better for development than doing something harder and new?

This isn't Moller we are talking about. Schenn isn't some one dimensional or undersized Guy who must be in a scoring role.

Not only is there nothing fundamentally or practically wrong with having Schenn be the 4th line center, but it likely could be the best Thing for him AND the team.

I don't see the problem with starting Schenn on the fourth line. A guy with his skills can play in every kind of situation.

Especially since we have a coach who doesn't really use lines. Schenn could start the game on the 4th line and wind up on the 1st PP unit by the end of the first period. The more legit weapons you give Terry Murray the better he becomes as coach.
