So grown men gloat that they can bench more then 17 year olds?

I never checked it out, I don't even want to.

Cool, story bro.

It's harder for someone who's 6'2 200ish pounds to jump than someone who is 5'7 150.

That's quite impressive.

I used to read them because I wanted to get updates on the prospects to see who looked more impressive or not and such...I stopped because every single time they devolve into multiple pages of people thumping their chests and going "(prospect) couldn't do THAT? LOL omg I was lifting 400 lbs when I was 5 years old!".

I wonder how high Jason Richardson can jump. That guy is ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if he could beat 81%.

When I coach volleyball I always want to see how high the player can jump without momentum.
I didn't notice that because it's a simple walk. But you're right, I would still count that step as a momentum helper. No matter how small it is, it could be the difference between 56'' and 55.5'', which can be the difference between making it and not.

JRich could jump pretty high 5 years ago, he isn't that great of a jumper now. He has nothing on carter anyways( although he's lost some hops too)

I have a buddy, he's a carpenter who drinks beer everyday and he can do the same thing.

Hopefully Patches will put it all together this year and challange for a roster spot.

Why would anyone think that jumping ability would translate to goal scoring ability?

I have a friend, he's a car salesman who does heroin and he can jump twice as high. True story.

HAHAHAHAHAH.....thats awesome....you have a friend who sells cars?? SWEET!!

I guess I forgot to add the in my first post. I know how things work on these boards, some users in here would automatically assume that Patches has made the team and will score 20 goals and 40+ points, simply because he jumped on a box!!! If you spend any time in this forum, you know exactly what I'm talking about...LOL....there are some real head-scratching posts made in here on a daily basis.

The only thing Pacioretty being a good box jumper tells us is that he's extremely explosive - we already knew that. Just like we know he has good size and good hands and a good shot.

In my opinion, the 3 most important consideration for a hockey player are:

1) Hockey sense
2) Character (includes a combination of work ethic, attitude, fearlessness, commitment)
3) Skating

Followed closely by:
4) Puck Skills (hands, passing, shot)
5) Size/Strength

The reason why Pacioretty is not my favorite prospect is that I consider #1 and #2 to be average in his case, based on what I see so far (which admittedly could change). #3, 4 and 5 have never really been questioned in his case.

What an irritating comment. He never said that he could jump 57", and I'm sure you know this. He said that he could jump 50", and that his friend could jump 53". His argument is that he gives up 7" in his jump but also in his height. It's a nice jump, but I don't think that it's nearly as impressive as you're making it out to be.

I won't lie, I find it ironic for you to talk about bad posts. To be fair though, we all have our fair share.

I haven't made one yet!!! Its not my fault I see things differently than others and they decided to tear me apart and insult me. There are still some people out there that agree with my posts too.
