The last stand-up goaltender to play in the NHL. No one will forget the save, nor game one against the Rangers, both of which I see have already been posted.

Sweet, Kirk McLean's awesome. Reminds me of the good old days when I didn't hate the Canucks with a passion, back when they had likeable guys like McLean, Bure and Linden.

WHAT!

As a Canuck fan, I am not happy about this. Nevertheless, I wish him the best.

Meh..He's another part-timer. Not sure what to expect exactly. It's really a nothing role since it is a part time gig. I hope Andy is getting the constructive criticism and praise from his team-mates and full-time coaches.

It's not like anyone in here is expecting to see (much less hear about) McLean showing up one day at practice (practice?) and say, "You got him breathing out of the ******* eyelid!" or anything.

It's a part-time gig. This is nothing more than giving some money to an ex-NHL'r for being able to take a phone call from Andy from time to time.

I imagine the phone calls will go like this:

Andy: I'm in a freaking year where I can make or break my future financially and the defense is still old, slow and now blocks less shots.

McLean: Breathe out of your right eyelid.

Andy: What???? That MF'r last year told me to breathe out of my left one!

McLean: Hey babe, whatever floats your boat. I'm only here part-time.

Andy: *gets pissed off and has a shutout despite a terrible d-corp*

McLean: *get's his resume updated after helping Andy to another shutout*

No, we didn't have a full time coach last year either.

I don't mean to be down on the guy (everyone says he is pure class.) Seriously though...a part-time goalie coach is nothing more than a pen-pal for a goalie getting 60+ starts in a season.

I'm not saying he is supposed to be more than that. I'm just saying it's all to do with nothing. Biller could fit this role without adding more than maybe 20 hours over the season to his schedule. No part-time coach is going to have great insight and help Andy come to some watershed moment. Seems like a waste of money...

So just because someone is part time, means they can't be helpful?

Considering the goalie position is largely mental I think having a guy like McLean with his playoff exp , even partly availible, could help a goalie.

Good. I was hoping Andy would keep his flailing, stacking of the pads and all around awesomeness. McLean will definitely help that.

I guess this is our version of that guy who's gonna be on the coaching staff in Calgary after being a "lifetime av"

You can also see this that way that McLean lost a Game 7 of Stanley Cup Finals for Canucks.

Nuh-uh! SHE was our goalie coach, obviously. Rumor is Bettman is a sexist and wouldn't allow a women goalie coach so she went incognito. In this picture she's working with Andy on tracking by having him stare at a spot on her chest and never lose sight of it
