Until Timonen starts sucking, I want him on this team

That's why it'll be great having Leighton and Boucher -- we won't be in playoff position and could capitalize big time on dealing a guy like Timonen.

If he is still playing at his current level, I don't care.

Timonen is a top-notch d-man. Just because Pronger came in and is a little bit better doesn't make Timonen any less talented or valuable.

Until he slows down, there's no reason to trade him.

I think Pronger makes Timonen better, since he take less abuse and will have him playing longer at a higher level. I think he stays, unless the team falters and there is a fire sale.

I was there for the first time in at least 15 years a few weeks ago. Place looks nice, but I think I looked the old 80's look better.

I think Hartnell gets dealt before Kimmo. With all the moves homer has made, its clear he feels getting top tier defensemen is more important to him.

Even at his age I would take hinm every night over Meszaros. Not sure what people expect with this kid, but this is another Homer reclamation project, he has not been very good since leaving the Sens and his one breakout year playing alongside Chara.

He did not play with Chara. He was Redden's partner for the most part.

His first year was with Chara, which was his best, and then after that he was paired with Redden I thought. A couple other guys on those Sens teams to drop off the face of the earth, Tom Preissing and Joe Corvo, even Wade Redden.

Like I said.. He played with Redden for the most part. I'd say 70-80% of the time.

Well, he played with Chara before he got traded, and he was there three years, so I guess you could say 67.7% technically speaking not quite 70% and even then I am not sure if he played entire amounts with Redden. One concrete thing I can tell you is that over the last two years his numbers have significantly dropped:52 games, 2 goals, 14 assists, 16pts, -4(both Steve Eminger and Krajicek had better numbers) and 81 games 6 goals, 11 assists, 17pts, -14(on a team with a 50 goal scorer).

What do you think about a trade next summer with Atlanta - Timonen/Hartnell for Bogosian/Kane.

Thrashers may like Hartnell as they are bulking up their team but Timonens salary may be a problem with ownership. Bogosian and Kane have bright futures and not sure if the Thrashers would part with them.

Let me know if I am plain ridiculous.

No trade clauses render you ridiculous.

Also, given our current salary issues, we need to start playing some Moneyball, asap.

No way the Thrashers trade Bogo and Kane for two vets. That's a lot of pedigree to give up for a defenseman whose peak is likely behind him.

In fact the Thrashers did laugh - too many rum and cokes can do that to you... well if not you and me...

This organization is one of the best in the league. They have a plan in tack. They live in the world of reality. Not Internet geekdom.
