Quebecers set to Invade Coliseum

Islanders fans, its time to defend our home.

http://tricolore.ca/chfans/showthread.php?t=50402

"Nordiques Nation is going on the road on December 11th to watch a game between the Thrashers and the Islanders (two teams that could be moved) in an empty arena. We'll be able to sit all together at ice-level, since their fans are nowhere to be found. Dressed in blue, you'll be seen and heard by the entire league. Be a part of this historic moment"

That's a loose translation provided by a poster on *************.

So these fans are planning on showing up and starting chants and bringing signs about moving OUR team to Quebec? In OUR arena? No ****ing way. I've already ordered tickets and I expect it to be a bloodbath. Lets rally behind this and not let this turn into a disgrace or joke.

Habs fans always invade our arena. Never disrespectfully might I add. But always there. We should be okay. Our Arena is never empty. It's had poor attendance, but, never empty. I'll be up there in October to remind them of the true fans we islanders are. Don't you worry.

Have you clicked on the forum. There is not one response on that page and it was posted on 08/27. Nothing to be worried about nor care about. So right now it looks to be one guy with a sign. Try to sit next to him

Whatever. Isles will make them pay, DEARLY. Chances are there are more Isles fans than the Nordiques fans Wait.. Quebec does NOT have an NHL team. The Isles have a better chance to stay in Nassau County (which is very close to a zero) beyond 2015 than moving to Quebec. If those Nordiques fans want to bring to the Islanders to Quebec, they will be sorely disappointed.

Mediocre attendance when the team has been in the dumps for the better part of 17 years? NO WAY!

Well, at least we have more attendance than the Nordiques.

the game vs the Canadiens last year. That was embarrassing. Doesn't look like this movement will be nearly as big.

a non-issue. doubtful there would be a significant turn-out form quebec. IF there is, it might actually light a fire under murray/mangano/wilpon/bloombeg/wang/levy to finally get something done locally.

I think the fact that no one else is buying into this is the real story here. I would think Nordiques fans would have enough respect to know not to take another team's team away with something like that.

Obviously they should still have a team though.

Won't happen! Islanders never move to the mainland. There's a pretty good hockey market out here on Vancouver Island, though.

I kid, I kid!

WRONG.

From what i hear, the first wave of 500 was sold out and there are another 200-250 (as of yesterday) people on the waiting list for the second wave of buses.

Now what iff.....

They hat Montreal, HATE Toronto and don't care for Buffalo?

Root for Les Islanders de NY! Bleu, Blanc et Orange! Go to games sparingly, but avec DirecTV, votres equipe c'est accessable por quatre installments de $49 et notre equipe c'est jeune et en deux o trois ans, nous sommes formidable!

Isles will not be moving out of NY, as much of the hype that the good old canadian reporters make you read, its incorrect. So if I was you and "so many people" who are going , I would read up on the Islanders. Also, Quebec will not be getting a team back.

Sorry your team is gone but thats life. Atlanta still has a little time to change it around but if they do not, I would imagine that they would be moved in the USA if thats the case. I do not know much about their situation. I rather have the whalers back than the Nords.

Once again, you'll just make us more money, so thank you.

i hope you`re not a betting man

i don`t think the Isles will be moving, but it`s the closest ''team in the bottom 3 in attendance'' so that`s why people will be going there. It`s not to steal the team, but rather to show the NHL once again just how much Québecers want the Nords back. If i was a betting man, i`d put money on the Thrashers or the Panthers.. not the isles. Still, should be a fun game to attend.. with the atmosphere in there. If it helps you guys have a sellout that night, that`s great! with your 12,735 attendance average last year, i`m sure you didn`t see lots of those.

We're organizing a trip to see the Expos in Montreal this month because they are a team of interest. Wait, what? Oh, never mind.

what sport is that? oh we don`t care about that up here

But you`re right.. the expos didn`t deserve to stay in Montréal, and we know that here. The fan support wasn`t there at the end.
If you don`t support, then you can`t really complain if your team ever leaves.

Support was not the reason the nords left though.
