Here is what ESPN says on playoff seeding:

PLAYOFF SEEDING AND TIEBREAKERS (Standard Leagues)
When your league converts into playoff mode the system automatically generates a seed for each team in the league based on the regular season results. The seeds determine where the system places each team in the playoffs. The primary factors which determine seeds are:

1. Division Winner(s)
2. Winning Percentage

In the event that two or more teams have the same winning percentage at the conclusion of the regular season, and have played the same number of head-to-head games between them, the following tiebreaking system determines the seed:
1 - Overall record *
2 - Head-to-head record
3 - Division record
4 - Coin Flip

My guess is since the top 4 seeds are byes and division winners get the top in the factors for seeding, the 4 byes will go to the division winners. Then the remaining 8 play each other. So that question is answered.

Tis I.

It's the name of the Rugby team there, that have won numerous Canadian super league titles: and I played for.

The default jersey layout works great for the colors too : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newfoundland_Rock

I am very much looking forward to the season(s)

Draft Date Discussion

I'm thinking Sunday, September 19, likely 5PM or so for the draft.

20 teams at 19 total players each (14 start, 5 reserve) at 1 minute per pick makes a 6 hour long draft.

Let me know if that's good for you, or if you would prefer another day/night.

*FIXED

I prefer night and I am MST - so 5pm is 3 pm here, I'll more than likely be working then...

How about like 9:30 EST? that way it'll be 6:30 for anyone on the West coast....

My mistake, the 19th. Alright, how late are you working until? I'll do my best, but 20 people is going to be hard to coordinate a 6 hour draft for.

There are 3 choices for draft pick timers: 30, 60, or 90 seconds. Right now it's 60. If everyone wants, I can switch it to 30. it'll keep people paying attention, and reduce the draft time to about 3 hours.

I like the 30 second timing, we should ALL have a good idea on who we want to draft - I have mine pre-set just in case I am running late or I miss it.

If we don't choose in the alloted time it' will pick the next 'best' option - so 30 seconds is my vote

EDIT: I will ask for the day off if I can get it - HAHA... rather not, but we'll see.

Yeah, let's go for 30 seconds. Makes most sense with all things considered.

That's cool with me. I'd prefer 6 or 7, but if everyone else is cool with 5 I can deal. It's my brother's wedding the day before so I will probably be very hungover. Also I agree that the limit should be 30 seconds.

DFF, if we go with 30 seconds each pick, which I'm leaning toward, I would push the start time back to 7 or 8PM EST.

the 19th at 7 or 8 is pretty good for me.

having it any later is not good for me, and i assume many other people. considering the main demographic on this forum is east coast, catering to them should be number 1.

If we have it @ 7. That could work much better for myself. I am not sure how many folks are on the West in the Keeper League. That time only means 3hrs of max time with 30 second pick times.

This has my vote.

I'm fine with 30 second picks. Like I said, with the amount of people, it'll save an extra 3 hours that can be used on other things (and 4 people off the top of my head in the league, I know that thing is NHL 11).

Just...no complaining if you screw up a pick because you're not fast enough.

Like DBH said, I'm aiming for Sunday, Sept 19 @ 7PM EST.

I just thought of this, are we going to be implementing a cap system similar to the actual NHL?

Yea draft times at night are definitely better. 30 seconds is fine, with 20 people it gives you enough time in between picks, and if you just queue it up based on who you want it won't really be an issue.
