Slapshot, and there shouldn't be a debate.

I've called my Fantasy Hockey League, the Federal League for the last few years.

Miracle and the Mighty Ducks are also great though.

Big thumbs up!

How could a movie suck when it has the "most epic scene in movie history?"

I think it is Slapshot, and by a mile, and this is coming from someone who probably loves Mystery, Alaska quite a bit more than most, I own the DVD and randomly tell people about my pony that takes big *****.

I also loved the Mighty Ducks franchise as a kid, not so much now, but hey, they are kids movies so no harm done.

Unfortunately, hockey doesn't have a true epic like the other three pro sports. Slapshot comes closest.

The Rocket for me, I don't mind subtitles, I'd rather it be more realistic. (in french)

Slapshot 2nd, Miracle 3rd.

Lamenting the fact the real Chiefs just left the War Memorial for good.
My vote is Slapshot, and while I like most of the other movies on the list, they don't come close.
My wife votes Miracle, with Youngblood second.

I don't know, I think Miracle fits the bill pretty nicely.

I voted Slapshot, but I don't think choosing Miracle in place of it is at all a bad choice. Miracle was a fantasic movie.

Without reading the responses here is my reasoning... For anyone who lived through the 1980 Olympics old enough to understand what happened I believe the choice is a lot easier. I know of hockey fans who were not fans *Miracle* because they knew the story but did not understand what actually was accomplished in the Era when the US sent no pros to the Olympics and the European teams and other countries were able to have their very best compete -- Teofilo Stevenson the Cuban boxer was an example of an athlete who could not compete as a professional but arguably rivaled Mohammad Ali as a Heavyweight -- Russia/USSR was the ultimate hockey power... no country was really even close... Add to that the Cold War and the Patriotism and the fact that these were kids playing against men, and these were players that for the most part were not destined for the NHL/WHA. This was a well coached team that played as a team and played to their best capabilities and beyond. To have lived through that and relive it on film was mesmerizing, IMO... to not have lived through it I suppose makes it just another corny rah-rah David vs Goliath story were we all know the end.

For the reasons above I voted for *Miracle*

All that aside, I discount *HBO's Broad Street Bullies* as not really a movie but a documentary -- *Miracle* was done as a movie based on a live event -- I also am too close to the BSBs to not be swayed... but it is IMO not the best Hockey Move no matter how we look at it... it may very well be one of the best Hockey Documentaries though.

Runner up, and on top for the younger people IMO *Slapshot*... It is not effected by time, and even those who did not live through the real BSBs and the rough age of hockey can understand and enjoy the move. It is clearly above the others, excluding *Miracle*.

The Broad Street Bullies technically isn't a movie.

I was always a fan of D2.

Miracle might fit the bill for Americans but for others, not so much.

I voted for Slapshot but would also go with The Rocket.
