I'm not a huge fan of Moller. I would absolutely love to get Dustin Brown however. Any trade involving Spezza will make us worse, and basically is giving up on our chance to win a Cup with Alfie around.
I'd do something like this:
To L.A. - Michalek, Kuba, Foligno, 1st round pick
To Sens - Dustin Brown, Jack Johnson
I don't know if the Kings would do this, probably need to tweak it somewhat, but those players would fit our needs tremendously. We get a tough S.O.B. on D that can score, and a power forward who will score 30 plus on Spezza's wing. Or you can have one of the best power forward lines in hockey with Brown and Fisher together. That would be downright scary lol.
I agree for the most part. We have the prospects to get him, but I think the Kings are sick of prospects, and are trying to start winning now. That deal was the closest i could think of, without including Spezza. Maybe a 3 way could be done, where the Kings end up with Savard. We'll just have to see what happens I guess. Getting anxious though.
Tim Murray will be on the team at 3:25 today bringing the funny.
-Excited for new season, long summer.
-Rookie tournament, looks at it as team building, obviously some will go back to junior, college, but most will go to Binghamton. Likes the intense atmosphere because the players are trying to showcase their skills/abilities.
-Jason York adding stupid, irrelevant points
-Reiterating the limited chance for the young guys to get in a week. Says players come in at 90% better shape then when they saw them last.
-Jared Cowen...says he thinks is almost fully recovered mono wise. Came in early to do his workouts with big guys. Is being positive about things. At about 95%.
-Thinks the door is open for Cowen at main camp. Felt he was more of a man-child at camp last year.
-Regarding Z. Smith, Butler, Wick...excited about all these guys coming, making it tough for them, but loves that situation, making it hard for the organization to decide. Feels depth has increased from a couple years ago. Thinks all of them can play regularly in the NHL...not sure if now or during the year, but they will get some games for sure.
-Regarding 12 guys on one-way contracts, 7 on defense. Contracts and salary cap are obviously an issue, but if someone unexpected is amazing at camp, they'll find a way to keep them. Here to win games, so the best possible players will be taken no matter what the contract.
-Lehner is going to go to Binghamton or that is the plan, not going back to Junior, as his european status allows him to. His mental and competitive edge make him very mature to handle the rigors of the AHL. Says Lehner is really looking forward to the challenge.
-re; Kovalev and Michalek....both are doing well, very positive at this point, been skating alot, ready to go.
-Feels the organization is at its deepest point in terms of having depth throughout the organization, not necessarily the best NHL line-up, but feels they are seeing the benefits of it at the NHL level now.
Fisher to Kings has "serious legs" - Yes, he has a NMC but would happily waive to be closer to the Mrs. Ottawa liked Moller. Add to it.

Assuming this wasn't a joke:
I thought the Mrs. used to live in Nashville... isn't Ottawa closer than LA???
