Preseason Roster and Schedule (post #2); Cuts announced, Sept. 26 (post #189)

I'm far outside the flyers market, does anyone know if any of the preseason games will be nationally televised or listenable through the Internet? Thanks

In 2009, they opened with a similar schedule: Camp opened the 12th; first day on ice was the 13th; played at Detroit the 16th. That included three days of double sessions.

Ahh ok thanks. I guess when they practice those few days, it seems longer then it is.

There's language within the CBA that must be followed for the Camp sessions, too. It's part of the the agreement with management and the PA. I don't have the exact clauses handy but issues such as length of camp in terms of days is specified. IIRC, camp can't be longer than 20 days for returning players.

This year wont be as interesting sadly. Is was fun waiting in anticipation to see if JVR could make it, if Pyorala could live up to the hype, if Betts would get a contract, how Emery looked.

How Zherdev looks is a big one this year. Also Im interested to see if Leino can keep up what he did last year during playoffs. And the rookies... most likely no one but ussually every season there is 1 guy who makes a noise.

Also MSE, how about the rookie camp?

Ehh we already know what Zherdev is about, and putting him against preseason talent wont show us much.

I mean it will be interesting to see what Zherdev and Leino can do during the season, but this preseason will be rather boring. Especially considering our top prospects are goalies that are definitely not going to make the team, but maybe we will get to see Bobo play a preseason game.

The Capitals announced a few days ago that the rookies would play the Flyers in Virginia.

Quote:
ARLINGTON, Va. – Washington Capitals rookie camp will conclude on Thursday, Sept. 16, with a 3 p.m. game against rookies from the Philadelphia Flyers at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Va. Admission to the game will be free but due to space limitations will require a ticket that fans can obtain from WashingtonCaps.com beginning Sept. 1.

You know what Zherdev is gonna do? Im excited because I hope he comes in and dominates...or he could cruise around like he has done in the past. Im interested to see it.

Im not really talking about our top prospects. Two years ago it was Powe and Nodl. Last year was Bartulis. There is always someone who does better then the rest and gets recognized. Not bluechip wise but noticeable wise.

I remember reading else where about how he refused his team to wear those. I don't blame him.
