I find it nuts just how fast they guy went from a Rocket Richard winner to player who could only get a freaking invite to a training camp! Really do feel bad for the guy and it is just crazy thinking back to his good days in San Jose as a star and fan favourite! I don't know if it was the best idea to just give the middle finger to Modano and then just sign this guy though as Cheechoo isn't ever going to be what he once was with the nagging injuries he continues to have! Do wish the absolute best to the guy though!

Denis Potvin to Ottawa, that sucks. Was wanting him back over Lindsay.

Ridiculous. He was with the team since the beginning, and he should have stayed here until he wanted to retire.

To be fair, he has improved his career. Going from the Florida Panthers analyst to the Ottawa Senators is a vertical career move.

I never said it was a bad move by him, I was just stating that it should have never came down to this. He should still be doing Panther games, period.

I never said you said it was a bad move. I'm merely stating that this is the natural progression in any career.

I still feel that getting rid of Potvin was nothing more than yet another move to cut costs despite Yormark's and the organization's ridiculous attemps to deny it and say he "didn't spend enough time in South Florida." He was a respected analyst and he had been here since 1993. He was one of the few who would actually criticize this organization. He was a big part of this organization, and the organization kicking him to the curb was a joke.

Lindsay may have been a great Panther player, but he's simply not as good a commentator. The old setup, with Goldie and Potvin on TV and Moller and Lindsay on the radio, was a lot better.
