Ironically I'm going out for one right now. Do they offer grilled jalapeños up there?

I went to the one just outside the Verizon Center on a trip to D.C. last year. It was EXCELLENT! My wife and I soon found out that they'd be expanding to Canada, and believe it or not... the first Canadian location was in Medicine Hat, Alberta. A couple hours drive from Calgary.

http://network.nationalpost.com/np/b...to-canada.aspx

It was just as good as the one we went to in D.C. Can't wait for the expansion to Calgary.

I shouldn't have made this post now I want some. I'm trying really hard to watch what I eat because I'm huge and need to lose weight. I thought it was worth mentioning though because my aunt showed me the paper this morning where they were announcing the location in Vaudreuil.

YOU SUCK!

I'm really craving one of their burgers right now. Unfortunately I just looked at the store locations and the closest one to me is 230km away. I wonder if they deliver?

Not that I'm a burger expert, but their burgers are probably the best I've ever had. I've been to a few locations (Florida, Michigan, DC, Rochester). I've never had a bad burger, and the fries are pretty good as well.

For the record I always order the same damn thing:

Double Bacon cheese burger w/Mustard, Pickles, Jalapeno Peppers
Large Fries
Bottled Water (Have to be a little health conscience after eating all that junk food)

This is amazing news. Burgers there are friggen awesome. Ate in 1 for the first time just outside of Washington in a rest area on the 95 coming back from Flo. Now we'll get our own in old mtl

Maybe the Quebec version of five guys will introduce poutine

Men's Health magazine put the company's fries on its list of "20 Worst Restaurant Foods in America." In a June report, the Nutrition Action Health Letter wrote that an unadorned Five Guys' bacon cheeseburger - which it said was equal to two McDonald's quarter pounders - and an order of large fries add up to a whopping 2,380 calories.
Ouch!

I don't mind fast food joints now and then, but I have my limits.

Would be great if they expanded to Toronto. Hero Burgers is a big load of crap. I'd rather have a Harvey's burger.

Yeah I wouldn't recommend eating there on a regular basis. Unless you're hoping to have a triple bypass surgery in your future. Personally I eat healthy 90% of the time, so when I do eat fast food, I don't mind going overboard once in awhile.

5guys>In&Out

but, to read that some people think that 5 guys is the best burgers they've had, is a bit of a stretch, to say the least.

just because it beats out the fast food chains like McD and BK or Wendys, doesn't mean it's great.

I've never tried an In&Out burger. My relatives rave about them, so eventually I'll have to check them out the next time I visit.

I don't really eat fast food a lot, so the only comparison I can make is to places like McD, BK or Wendy's. Or the odd greasy spoon type restaurant in my area. In comparison to those places, 5 Guys serves a much better burger.

Harvey's is still my favorite fast food restaurant burger.

Also 2400 cals for a Burger and fries at 5 guys (if that article is correct), makes McDonalds seem like a healthy choice

Use to live in Toronto, now life in Florida.

5 Guys is absolutely amazing! In fact just had it today for lunch.

Another place that i have seen in downtown Toronto (not sure if it has expanded to montreal yet), that is an American chain, is Chipotle.

If you ever see a Chipotle, try it, also freaking amazing!

It's quite good, a bit pricey though. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm for 5 Guys was tempered a few weeks later when I went to Shake Shack in NYC and had a burger that made 5 Guys taste like a **** sandwich.

Dude, I'm dead serious. Food is no laughing matter. Ever.

A few years ago, I had to fly from Chicago to Boston, and instead of taking a direct flight, I arranged for a stopover in DC, cuz they have one at the airport there.

When you want a greasy, juicy, artery-clogging, orgasmic, TASTY burger, nothing beats the meat from five guys. Accept no substitutes.

In N Out is fine, but it ain't no FIVE GUYS people.

Try the one in Vaudreuil and let us know if it's the same quality as the one in the states (if you're willing to make a stop in DC for one, I'm sure you could trek 20 Km's by car ) .... I wasn't blown away at all.
