Merrill seems a little high for a guy who was just drafted, and I think Eckford is a bit low, but otherwise I like these rankings.

Why is Tedenby ahead of Josefson? JJ is better in every category 'cept for stickhandling.

Tedenby has a better shot, better speed, and much better hands. He also arguably has the higher potential. Josefson will be a very solid two-way forward, but in my opinion he doesn't have the potential to be an offensive game breaker like Tedenby does.

Jared can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a lot of this is based on ceiling/potential. And Tenedby has a higher ceiling than JJ, in his opinion.

Its the reason Zharkov is so low, even though he's played 40 NHL games and is by far the most NHL ready of the group.

it's basically because boo's potential is higher than yayo's, and i think merril is so high, because he has a poop ton of potential too.

That is right on the money. Which is also why Merrill gets such a good slot for his debut on the list. Zharkov is going to be a good one, just not an elite one.

I was wondering because Ted and JJ have the very same rating (7.5C).

They probably should be rated 8.0C and 7.5B but HF would explode at the notion the Devils have great prospects.

Good article, like normal Jared.

But how are our top prospects all "C"s yet slot into our top tier in terms of potential?

Yet again the HF rating system boggles my mind.

Well the letter grades are just a prediction of how likely they are to reach the indicated number grade. They're probably both C's because they haven't really been tested in the American-style game yet.

I find it really hard to give out B's, and to be honest, if I have any uncertainty about giving a guy a B, I usually won't give it to him. The system is kind of difficult to get a handle on, even with it being around for however long it has, I still struggle with it sometimes. I'm probably more conservative compared to some other writers, but if I see a guy who I believe doesn't have even close to the potential of Tedenby or Josefson, I definitely let it be heard.

How exactly is our goalie situation? How is Frazee coming along?
