Actually, we have 8 top SIX forwards, we really don't need Guerin.

Patrick O'Sullivan would be worth a risk. He's one of the better free agent forwards still available. I also like Jason Williams.

...yeah, which is one of the reasons our lines end up being so damn goofy. You always have one line that doesn't really make any sense and Carcillo is playing with Richards.

I'd rather have more guys that can play in the top 6 than too few - having cheap guys with great talent like Giroux, JVR, Leino and Zherdev is the key to our scoring depth.

I have no problem with Carcillo playing with Richards and I'm not sure Guerin would be an upgrade on Carcillo at this point.

It's absolutely a good thing to have more guys that can play the top 6 than you need. However, the problem then becomes what do you do about the 9th guy in this setup. Carcillo tries hard, and has some skill... but he's a major problem riding shotgun on a scoring line in the grand scheme of things (he just can't keep up with the guys that we have). Same goes for Powe. Both would be fine if we had a line that was really being used like a traditional two-way third line, but we don't have that.

You're not sure Guerin would be an upgrade over Carcillo for a scoring line? Really?

I'm not sure Guerin is a net plus compared to Carcillo when Carcillo has his head screwed on right (which isn't all the time), but if you're talking about a scoring line... he's absolutely better.

Where is Esche? I thought he would have signed somewhere by now....it would be great to bring him to camp and let him compete for a job.

The only player I might want to see is Eric Belanger. He is a consistent 30-40pt player and has a good FO %. If Betts is going to be in and out of the line up because of a bumb shoulder, then it would be nice to have someone who can win FOs.

Edit: Although I've seen articles that have said he is going to re-sign with the caps.

No he isn't signed, he earned 1.8m last year - so it'd be tight, he has ALWAYS been a good FO man.
I'd welcome him on this team for sure. But with betts, it's hard to say of he'd fit in at all.

According to EuroFlyers, Tomas Sinisalo is looking for another try out contract.

I dont know how to post the exact twit?, but, it's a little more then half way down the page.

Maybe he might be able to make it to phantoms? Or, now that I think about it, we are pretty set in ADK right? Oh well. Thoughts

I really liked Sinisalo last year. He had a good tryout. I was surprised he wasn't given another shot or a minor league contract.

No point in signing a new player that we'll just have to get rid of shortly after the season begins.

IIRC, it wasn't confirmed whether Betts will miss any time or not, and even if he does we can just call up Kalinski.

I really wish jose theo would come to the flyers. Earn himself a contract, and win a stanley cup for us. The guy has had a rough career, but the worst of it looks like it's behind him. Pronger would make him look like a friggin all-star.

Yeah, the only player that I've wanted to come to camp is Theodore and I know that's not gonna happen. So all I'm really interested in this camp is Bobrovsky.
