Gabby is in the house... https://twitter.com/thenyrangers | http://twitter.com/AGrossRecord

Quote:
Marian Gaborik arrived in NYC yesterday and is on the ice with 25+ of his #NYR teammates this morning for informal workout
Quote:
Not a bad start: Gabby scored on his first line rush, off Prospal feed...sound familiar?!!!
Quote:
Marian Gaborik says #NYR are "fortunate" to get Derek Boogaard & that he has much respect 4 Alex Frolov after playing against him for years
Quote:
Gaborik: "I believe we are going to score a lot of goals & with Hank in net we can not allow as many goals"

Gaborik: "It's a goal to be in the playoffs, but we have to make sure we are ready from the start and take it step by step"

Gaborik stresses that #NYR need to be more consistent this season, though he adds a strong start like last year "would be nice"

Gaborik on Boogaard: "You don't want to be a defenseman on the other side of him because I have seen some huge impacts"
Quote:
Marian Gaborik on Alex Frolov, his likely top line mate for #NYRangers: "He's a great player 1-on-1, especially in the corners."

Scrimmage over, Rangers do some solo break-ins, which means it's time for the MZA show.

Garnet Exelby apparenlty received a tryout offer...

Correction: It wasn't Fedotenko on the ice, it was Garnet Exelby, who's in for a tryout.

Frolov could be having visa issues, if he spent the summer in Europe.

FYI, Frolov arrived today; http://twitter.com/AGrossRecord

Quote:
Alex Frolov is on the ice taking part in the 6-on-6 scrimmage at #NYRangers informal skate. First time he's with his new teammates.

LW Alex Frolov repeats that down season with #Kings was result of him not getting time on top line/power play. Still confident.

Wow, now Semenov, too.

A lot of guys coming in with chips on their shoulders and a lot to prove.

This is going to be one heck of a training camp.

I don't get it. Why is Semenov there? I thought his wife didn't want him playing in New York. Did she change her mind?

If he's actually serious about being on the team this time, I definitely have no problem with him being there, I was somewhat excited about it last year. Besides, it's another Russian for Frolov, Anisimov, and Grachev to relate to.

Probably because the team he was playing for in Russia folded and he's out of a job (Andrew Gross reported this on his blog).

Why does Semenov have a chip on his shoulder? We handed him a roster spot last season, he got *****ed out by his wife, cried to Sather, and then went to Russia and made more $$$

As for the others, well, usually players do have "chips on their shoulders" because they're unwanted somewhere else, and thats usually for a reason

Yeah thats what I was thinking as well.

Sather was fuming about Semenov after that ordeal last camp, I'm shocked but not shocked that Sather would be desperate enough to ask him back.

BTW, hows Ivan Baranka doing?
