What does this mean? He can't progress into more than what he is because he hasn't already?

He's not going to surpass Malkin...durr. What he has done, though, is improve his vision, defense, and faceoffs, and that's part of why he's likely moving into the 2nd line center role this year. There's little reason to think that he's not going to get better than he is.

Oh, I also did say that he was "good and even great at his position" but why quibble when you can be outraged instead.
Why do people think that when their zany posts get challenged that the critic is "outraged"?

The comparison is valid when taken in context. JS will likely continue to develop into a good to great #2/3 center in the game. JMFJ will likely develop into a #1/2 d man in the league and also be good to great. Which one tends to have more value or, which one is harder to come by?
He's already a great #3, and better than most #2s.

You optimistically project JJ to be something he's a long way from, and curiously project JS to be something that he already is.

But if he does develop further into that true top 1st line center in the game, it won't be as a Pen, will it?
Talent is talent. The fact that some people aren't capable of making the distinction without the player being the best center on the team couldn't be less important. Malkin's a #1 despite Crosby being ahead of him on the depth chart.

So to underline and further simplify my point, would you rather hang onto Jordan who is as a Pen at best a good to great 3rd line center or would you rather deal him for a young good to great top pairing d man?
Has that not been made clear?

True. Sid also loved his third grade teacher, Mrs. Fernwhipple, and has been pushing for the Pens to sign her to teach English to foreign players.

This helps the Leafs and Kings big time, but it does not help the pens out at all, actually it hurts them. Pens have a decent enough blueline as is, but they suck **** up front beyond Crosby/Malkin, so if Staal goes whos going to pick up the scoring slack?

I concur. As a Leaf fan I'd be willing to give up A LOT for Jordan Staal.
