As a Ranger fan: IMO he'll have around 75 points, but ~45 of them will be goals.

My prediction is for less than 60... and it wouldn't bother me really as long as there's progression in other parts of the game.

I voted 80-90 because I felt like being ridiculous.

I think most of you are going to be terribly disappointed. I'm with Richie on this one. 60 points max. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I will be.

30-30 Seems like the safe bet. Why does 30 goals sound like a lot, but 60 points doesn't?

I think JT will always be a guy that has almost the same amount of goals as assists...maybe a 30-35 G 30-35 As for 60-70 Ps

i voted for 90+ because WHY NOT!?

it's a meaningless poll, nobody remembers and nobody will judge the results once the thread fades away.

but if he scores 45 goals and 52 assists I'll dig up this post and say "i told you so" - if not, no big deal.

(I learned this philosophy from eklund) - now click here cuz me needs to get PAID!

In the current NHL, there are only about 15-25 guys a season who even hit 70+ points.

Jeez, I seem to remember times in the 70ies and 80ies where several teams alone had 5+.

I believe Johnny T will come in around 65.

I'm with this. Sorry. Not trying to pull him down, but I just don't feel this team is good enough to help him get to more than about 55-60 points.

I really hope he proves me wrong.

Just some food for thought:

John Tavares jumped right in and had 24 goals and 30 assists for 54 points. Those numbers included a huge drought in the middle of the season. Considering that JT was learning on the job and his stamina was lacking for the NHL level, why shouldn't we expect some improvement over last season?

May as well throw a dart to figure out how much of an improvement he'll be capable of; I just don't see how there won't be ANY improvement. I think adding 10 points to last year's total would be a reasonable goal for the kid. Adding much more will require more dart throwing for the players that will surround him.

60-70 is, obviously, the safest range. That said, I'm voting with Redbull and Co., so I can call myself a visionary and tell everyone, "I told you so!"

All kidding aside, why not predict the improbable? Right now, we're fans of a team that is still in the very early stages of deciding who is going to have a shot at the roster. For all we know, Tavares might end up flanked by Nino and Martin.

,
Mitch

Everyone knows the recent history of this franchise and I'm tough on the organization as well, pessimistic at times, etc.

BUT at least at this time of year, why shouldn't we predict and hope for "the improbable"!

I'm with you mitchy, for once we have some bright spots on this team, some players with real potential so why not be optimistic and predict/hope for the improbable!

I know one thing, fifty goals would sound pretty good for this franchise. Not seen since Lafontaine/Turgeon.

Going into a playoff series against the Flyers or Rangers or Devils or Leafs would be a blast too.

I say he goes 30-30-60, and absolutely shatters the league in his 3rd season. I'm talking 95-100 points.

I'm so ready for a playoff series against the Leafs if it ever happens. I'd love to see JT **** on Phaneuf's +/-.
