(Crash!)

Dean Lombardi: "What was that?"

Ron Hextall: "I didn't hear anything..."

DL: "It sounded like... a tree falling... or a domino maybe"

RH: "So? Do you honestly care?"

DL: "Not really"

RH: "Good, So about that top line sniper and gritty bottom line winger that we still need..."

I'll give DL credit for not making Purcell an option for top 6.

No loss. Sucks that we gave up a 3rd for him when he never really seemed to find his groove.

Never found his groove? I don't remember him ever even showing up once while he was here...

Waste of a 3rd, when we got Modin essentially for free.

btw, which of the 3rds did we give up?

63rd overall? Brock Beukeboom
66th overall? Radko Gudas?
72nd overall? Adam Janosik?

i'm assuming it's the 72nd pick?

im wondering cause i wanna follow that player to see he'll be a bust or an NHLer just so that it'll sting even more

Naw, he's just a kid .....a kid that, one year ago, was in the top 4 for the 2010 draft and fell dramatically. High risk, much higher reward. But no, we had to have Jeff freakin' Halpern for 5 weeks......

Honestly though, how was Dean supposed to know Jeff would never get going on the team . . . On paper, it looked like a great depth add to our bottom six & PK. . .

I think that Halpern was a fair enough gamble even though I hated the idea when we dealt for him. I don't blame DL for trying to add some vet depth for a playoff run. I don't like that he over paid for him but who knew that Halpern was going to be the forward equivalent of Randy Jones?

This off season has been a fairly good one for us even with our injuries. No longer will we have Randy Jones giving us ulcers and Halpern is a Hab.

Fair enough.

nooo Randy Jones was > to Jeff Halpern in LA

those 2 first weeks in LA were pretty good, Jeff Halpern was invisible

Jones was a pickup for free
Halpern cost us a 3rd and Purcell !!!!

Fair points KPC.

Making Halpern the worse of the two.

THAT is a very dubious honor. You hurt the team worse than Randy Jones award this year goes to
JEFF HALPERN!

I like it.

I'd rather a player be invisible like Halpern, than be glaringly noticeable in Jones.

I can't believe people still want him... If he hasn't grown up after everything he's gone through in the last year it's not going to happen till he spends a few years playing "Saki League" pick up games in japan at this point...
