At some point during his first return visit, they will likely show a mini-montage of his highlights (Game 6 winner vs. Tampa, Game 4 winner vs. Boston, Game 7 winner against Boston, among the few) and he will (should) get a standing ovation.
huh, I was at every game. I guess, I don't remember that.
I remember, because Recchi was my first favorite player, and it hurt a little despite understanding it. And then he went and scored the heartbreaker. (This was game three, where there was a shot from the point that hit one Boston player in front of the net, then proceeded to bounce off Pronger's chest, and then right to Recchi on the tape for a tap in, which sucked because if it were anyone else on the team it would've been their neck or head and it doesn't even get that far.)
He will get a standing ovation. Say whatever you want about Flyers fans, but people who have busted their ass for this organization are recognized for it.
I can't be home for the October game when the Lightning come to Philly, so I just bought my mom tickets to the November game. I can fly home from San Fran (thank you ASC conference!) and relax for a few days, and take her out for her (belated) and my birthday.
She is a huge, huge, huge Gagne fan.
If nothing else, Gagne has our respect and will get our applause.
What are the chances of Gagne re-signing with the flyers at the end of this year? Do you think it was a plan to let him go this year? or has it left a bad taste in Gagne's mouth

This is what im hoping for.
I want him to sign here for the rest of his career at say 2-2.5 mil per.

Aaron Asham already wrote us off. Aparently Homer did something unprofessional at the last minute.
If there's even a shred of hope of Gagne, I will be writing Homer letters on a daily basis to get him back.

Probably very unlikely. But a city can dream. Knowing homer, he may pull this off....how...and for what...I have no clue.

Apparently some report posted here (I think GKJ did it) had a quote of him saying something along the lines of "I'm looking forward to playing one year in Tampa." Whether or not that means anything, only Gagne knows. Apparently Pronger said the same thing coming to Philly, and we see how that worked out (stuck around).

I seem to remember Pronger saying he wanted to finish his career in Philly...?
