Sucks about Klasen, but honestly not that surprised to hear. Obviously I don't know what happened, but judging from his highlights he seems to skate with his head down and attempt to deke his way out of everything. Wish we could see what happened
No doubt. If healthy, Klasen will likely get into an NHL preseason game or two. Better to take the time off now than risk your entire season on opening days of camp...
Wow, talk about a head shot to a defenseless player!!!
Clackson leaned down to try to make contact with Klasen's shoulder, but clearly missed and hit him straight in the head...
Let it be known that this kid was on a tryout and a thug, there is no place for players like this... From a Panther fan, I'm sorry and I know how it feels.. Wish Klasen the best to getting well..

Seconded. Please note, Preds fans, that this guy is NOT a Florida Panther and just a tryout. Here's to a full a complete recovery for Klasen.
Awful I would have no problem if he would have leveled him shoulder to shoulder or shoulder to body because when you cut across the middle on a toe drag like that you make yourself vulnerable but that was just a straight headshot. Hopefully it's nothing serious because I was excited to see this guy after all the praise he's been getting.
Someone from S. Florida has posted several videos from yesterday on youtube. I've watched only the first, but it looks like most of yesterday's game is available.
Geoffrion apparently just got pounded by Gudbrandson
That wasn't quite how it was described by either the Panthers or George Richards on their Twitter feeds. I'll admit Geoffrion probably got the worst of it, but I'm reserving judgment hoping for some video to surface...

I was just quoting what some Panthers fans in attendance said.
Oh, I know. Just gotta question the eyes of someone named GundbarssonforPrez on anything related to said player...
LOL... touche!
Geoffrion started the fight and there wasn't a punch that connected till the end when Gudbranson connected on an uppercut. It was a big punch, but Geoffrion held his own... Your team out played us for sure... Good stuff. I really likee Josi today, was probably the best player of the day, yesterday it was Ellis. First goal was a pass from behind the net and was put 5hole I guess, couldn't tell looked like it just squeaked in. The second was a shot from the right wing and went far side under Markstrom's arm.. 3rd was a 2 on 1, very nice pass by Josi... Didn't see 4th or 5th. But today was a closer game then the score showed, we just had no offense on this team and our 3rd line was a bunch of tryouts, and yours had Austin Watson on it
Good stuff, a lot to look forward to in Nashville.

Thanks for the recap! We'll do our best to reciprocate next year when the Panthers come up to Nashville for the camp. With well over a dozen blogs covering the team, I'm sure we'll have it covered!
Fueled by first period goals from Chris Mueller and Ryan Thang, the Nashville Predators rookies weren't deterred by a short turnaround and defeated the Florida Panthers rookie squad for the second time in less than 14 hours by a 5-1 final this afternoon at the Coral Springs Incredible IcePlex in Sunrise, FL.
Mueller lead the way for the Predators today with two goals, while Anders Lindback (21 saves) and Chet Pickard split goaltending duties and continued to shine holding the Panthers to a single goal in the two game series.
