Why i'm a leafs fan in mtl: PQ leader says "Habs too English"

I know i'll get bashed by some but this is the #1 reason I could never be a habs fan even though I've been born and raised in beautiful Montreal. I'm not speaking for others, just me. This type of talk has been going on for years in the city and its not going away any time soon. I feel bad for Hab fans who have to put up with it and build a team around these type of expectations.

I'm really curious to know how real Hab fans feel about this.

Again not a personal attack, just my opinion and I'm curious how others feel.

I think it's like not liking Charlize Theron because South Africa had appartied or Heidi Klum because Hitler was German. What does what a politician having to say about the Habs have ANYTHING to do with the team. I'm happy you're a Leafs fan. It's somehow very fitting.

The PQ is as bad as the Tea Party. It's sad that either of them has supporters.

I dont get why you cant be a Habs fan based on what other people think of the organization?

The goal is to win the cup.
It doesn't matter if your team is full of people from Europe and the Middle East. If they are talented and will help you win the cup... that's all that matters.

Also. If your team has one Chuck Norris. The cup is handed to you. What is the point of playing when you know Norris will always win?

Does he win the trophy for the league's best defenseman every season as well?

What the hell does the PQ have to do with you being a Habs fan or not? They have no say in the team, they're just trying to make political hay. Picking your sports loyalties based on your political opinions seems downright crazy to me. Harper shows up in Leafs sweaters all the time, does that mean Liberals across the country can't root for the Leafs anymore? Seriously, to blame the Habs for the PQ's stupidity is like blaming the Leafs for traffic jams on the Don Valley Parking Lot. I hate traffic jams and I hate the PQ trying to stir up trouble for the Habs, but I know where to lay the blame.

What's wrong with The Tea Party, they were a pretty decent band.
