Some positives I see, despite losing this series

1.We showed character by making the playoffs when it was almost hopeless, that's great for a young team as they know what it'll take.

2. Chris Higgins.

Exactly!

Hey, who could have thought the Habs would have won the series against the Bruins last season despite being down 3-1 at one point!

Then again, im an optimist, so.......

Consider this: every game ended in a tragedy and our morale is to its lowest in months. We can put up a fight and we did. A win? Maybe. I'm not being pessimistic just facing reality.

3. If the dogs lose, Andrei Kostitsyn will be avaible to play at the wc's with Grabovsky.

We still have one game it's true! Have faith!

1. Hey, what makes you think we won't show character by beating the Amerks 4-3 when it is almost hopeless?

2. I agree. Higgins not only showed us that he's a leader and a great 2-way player ala Drury or Rolston during the regular season, but he also showed us how he can be a clutch performer when the playoff rolls around. The guy will be an absolute pivot on our 3rd line for YEARS to come! The only problem I got with him is his jersey number.. #88? Reminds me way too much of Anti-Québec Lindros... I hope he'll keep his #46 he has with the 'Dogs.

The season has already been a success IMO. We're down 3-0 in a series against the team with the best record during the regular season. I haven't seen or listened to the games but, from reading the threads, it doesn't seem like we've been badly outplayed. The stretch run was huge for our prospects....just as this series will only be a benefit. Looking back at the TB-Habs series.....I think that series will help our younger players. It's valuable experience.

Also....maybe we peaked too soon....?

#88 is close to #18, and thats his number. I mean nothing is written in stone, but I think he'll go back to #18.

he had the 88 with the habs cause the habs wouldn't let him have the 18... (serge savard maybe?), when asked about 88, he said that he didn't choose it and not sure about keeping it...

Learning how to lose, Can make you become a better winner.... If a team faces the lows then players can take this as great motivation that they never want to face it again. Its the exact opposite of winner, in regards that once you get the winning bug you're always in search and need of that fix!

Yes i think this is a great experience for our younger prospects and also our relatively young Habs team - in regards them losing in the playoffs. However i do think if they're really gonna get the full impact of such a pcyshological low for the incentive for it to become a motivation, then they must win at least one game, This is the case, just so that the weaker minded players can say to themselves "well at least we can beat them" and in return they can use this as a dual piece of motivation, with the helps of teammates input.

The problem is not losing the series.

The problem is that we could really be up 3-0. We should have won at least 1 if not 2 games and could have even stolen all 3 games.

If we were getting demolished this wouldn't be tough to take. You would just say ''the Amerks are just that much better than us...''

But we aren't getting blown out, in fact you can argue we've outplayed the Amerks for the majority of this series. That is why this series is a tough pill to swallow.

You hit the nail square on the head.. I just hop ethe boys come and go all out with their offense and give Jarvis the finger when he tells 'em to sit back. We could and maybe should be up by 3 games.. we still have a chamce but a slim one. Rochester is a very good team.. but so are we..

And, I hope Higgins keeps the #88, I dig it!

Me too. I'm sick of negative Nellies. I recall a playoff series not too long ago vs the gold and black where there were a lot of naysayers in these here parts. We will win? Improbable, but certainly not impossible. And as long as there's a chance we shouldn't stop hoping or supporting.
