What's with the hockey water in Brynas IF?

I just realized how many quality prospects that come out of Brynas last few years. It is an impressive list for a small club like Brynas. What makes their Juniors so good? They're the new MoDo.

Nicklas Backstrom #4 overall
Jakob Markstrom #31 overall
Ludvig Rensfeldt #35 overall
Jakob Silfverberg #39 overall
Sebastian Wennstrom #44 overall
Carl Jarnkrok #51 overall
Anton Rodin #53 overall
Johan Larsson #56 overall
Simon bertilsson #87 overall

There almost too many good juniors. Nice talents like Rensfeldt, Larsson, Rhodin, Berglind and Kalle Johansson is probably good enough to get some chances in SEL but the team is allready full with juniors and first-year seniors so they might get stuck in superelit again this season.

I don't know, but the water seems to run through Skellefteå as well!

Playing in Skellefteå AIK this season:

Adam Larsson, future #1 or 2 overall
David Rundblad, #17 overall
Tim Erixon, #23 overall
Oscar Lindberg, #57 overall
Mattias Lindström, #88 overall
Petter Granberg, #116 overall

Aside from Markström, the organization (and more specifically goalie coach Pecka Alcén) should be given credit for developing two other really interesting goaltenders - Joacim Eriksson and Anders Lindbäck.

Many organizations can find themselves going through periods of time when they have a lot of talented players at their disposal, and then it becomes a matter of letting them develop in the best possible way (basically just by being a serious hockey organization). Brynäs has been doing this lately, and now we see the result.

Although, of course, the matter of reaching the NHL successfully remains for most of these guys...

Must be the "lets populate the NHL/AHL while our own team drowns" kind of water..

In terms of history and prestige, Brynäs IF are the Montreal Canadiéns of the SEL. Not at all "small and insignificant".
