I'm guessing some of those will be dropped. Hits is BS because of home arena counting prejudices, GWG is essentially random, Ovechkin is a demigod if we're doing SOG... personally I'd drop +/- too if it were up to me just because it's a nonsense stat in the real world. I would like to see SHP added this year though.
When I ran one before, it was a 10 team league, H2H Categories
Goals, Assists, +/-, PIM
PPG, PPA, SHG, GWG
Wins, Shutouts, GAA, SV%
22 Roster Size
(4 of each FWD position, 6 defense, 2 goalies, 2 bench, and 1 IR)
I wanted the teams to be deep and still competitive if anyone went down because of injury, hence the number of categories. IMO, it tested you more because it forced you to know what areas your players would be weaker in and need to have other players to cover.
I had a bad experience with my league being completely screwy for like 2 weeks that soured my experience with them. I had used them for years before that. Then I went to ESPN and created my own and I liked the format and features there. From what I've heard, Yahoo has adopted some (if not all) of the same features to their leagues now.
Meh, but if you guys need one more, I'll sleep on it (which I need to do now) and probably decide to join this afternoon.
And if there are multiple leagues I want to be in whichever one "User Name" is not, and I want to be in whichever one Caseman is in to torment him. Oh, and chrissmith. I want to beat the best and wipe that smug English smile off his face.
No worries there. I didn't make the 16 or 10 or whatever was decided.
