What, no preseason stats?!?! Well, I'm never clicking on this shoddy link again.

Only thing I notice off the bat is that MZA doesn't belong here. He'll either be in NY or HFD, but either way he should be tracked elsewhere.

Interesting to note the shift in drafting philosophy year to year. We went from guys all over the NCAAs to the point where we may have no one playing college hockey after Kreider leaves BC.

Some of the player links are broken. I will fix this once actual rosters are established and real links are up.

Most of the CHL teams kick off their seasons the end of this week, here's hoping for a good year from Yogan and others.

I am very optimistic about him, I think that he is going to be a big steal in the 6th round.

No one thing, but rather a combination of:

a) His stats in Swedish junior.
b) The (granted very limited) reports that other posters posted after he was drafted.
c) Reports that he was one of the better performers for Sweden at the WJC camp in August.
d) The fact that he did so well for HV71 in preseason that he was playing on the top line at the end.

Let's just hope he doesn't go all Kveton on us.

Not really.

And I confess to really know nothing about him.

To me he is another smallish speedster with a decent skill set.

What sets him apart?

Intrigued because we basically traded Sanguinetti to get him, on top of all the things that BrooklynRangersFan said.

McNaught will be in Hartford. I think he's too old to go back to juniors, no?

Yeah, I believe so. I also thought Wilson would be in Hartford as well. Is that wrong too?

I thought they were both overagers.

We traded Sanguinetti because he was never going to make it here, and we could still get a decent pick for him.

And to improve McDonagh's chances of signing.

And we fired out Swedish scouting guy right after he was drafted.

Im intrigued about him more than I am, say Wilson or McNaught, but not any more than a guy like Yogan, for sure.

Both Wilson and McNaught are on their respective team's rosters. They should both be eligible to play one final season in the CHL.

If either lands in Hartford, I'll take 'em off the list.

Okay. I guess we'll see.

But I'm thinking of a number of smallish players in the system already (Zucarello, Hagelin, Bourque, Thomas), and he's less tangible to me.

Lets hope he has a great season and really puts himself on the radar.

I dunno - he appears to be 5'11" 165 according to multiple sources. At 18 that's acceptable. I realize that at this point we've been trained to expect our prospects to be either lilliputians or brobdingnagians, but sounds like he might round into relatively "average" size - especially if he adds a little weight training to his regimen over the next couple of years.

He's certainly in a different class than MZA, Thomas and Bourque.

Why aren't you excited for either Wilson or McNaught? I loved those picks and think they both can play in the NHL within the next few years.

Aggressive, hard-working players who will drop the gloves and are good at it. Sound like the ideal 4th liners to me.

That's why I said "basically". He is the tangible outcome of the trade so far, the new assets aquired.

I think Dale Weise, Ruslan Fedotenko, Brandon Prust when I think ideal first liners.

And just IMO, but you shouldn't use draft picks on guys whos potential tops out at the 4th line, because they are so easy to come by. We got Orr off waivers. Prust was a trade throw in as was Blair Betts I believe.
