Carter, Briere and Richards. In that order.

Only one capable of having a 100 points is Carter, IMO. He'd have to score at least 40 and have tons of PP time, take Gagne's spot on the wing.

I think Briere could hit 100, IF three things happen: 1) Lava plays him with Leino and Hartnell, 2) Hartnell regains his form prior to last season, and 3) Leino proves he can play (close to) like he did in the playoffs over the course of the season.

I want Briere to have a complete season for once (regular season and playoffs) since he signed that huge contract with us.

87pts 33 goals.

I thought he had a successful 2007-08 season. It could have been a bigger year if Gagne were healthy.

You thought? I usually do not care for plus/minus but in that case it was very well deserved. He was also booed (deserved) by Flyers fans in his 1st season. He played like poop for the most part.

I disagree, but that's par for the course.

Even if this weren't a contract year for him I'd still go with Carter. I have him scoring 90+ points.

Disagree about him minus over 20 or disagree about Flyers fans booing him that year or disagree in general?

Why do you think he started to play on RW? Because he could not pull his weight during regular season.

Carter doesn't pass well enough to be 100 point player.

No, no, and nearly no.

I disagree that he played like poop for the most part. Gagne's effective two-way play covered up a lot of Briere's "sins". Still, we knew he wasn't a two-way center when he arrived. Thus, he had a good season (and played 79 of 82 games, 96% "complete" while also compiling 16 points in 17 playoff games). 2008-09 was mostly lost to injury and last season was mediocre at best (though I blame most of his point drop on Hartnell's lack of scoring as Briere's goal output was in his usual range). After the playoff performance he had (Smythe Trophy-worthy if the Flyers won the Cup), I have no problem with Briere.

I agree - and he won't get 60 assists off rebounds.

I am not talking about playoffs. He steps up in playoffs. No argument from me. Seriously, why do you bring playoffs into conversation? Stop.

When you are minus 22, when fans boo you in your 1st contract year with the team, when he played like he did not care, taking lazy penalties. Gagne or no Gagne, he was not even making an effort.

So I do want him to be PPG player in regular season and playoffs at least once since he came here.

The fact that Philly fans booed Briere is greatly exaggerated.

It was a game against the Canadiens. I was there and the place was packed with Habs fans. It was mostly them.

It was the only game I noticed it bad.

I'm not saying it didn't happen, I'm just saying it is greatly exaggerated.

Oh, I don't know. Perhaps because you mentioned it here?

Understood. I just think he already did it once. Having season ticket holders in the family, I also know that the booing of Briere was exaggerated. Much like Hatcher before him.

Do package deals count?

I do not remember Hatcher being booed at all. Hatcher was never lazy and was always making an effort.

Your ears must be attuned to different boo frequencies.

Carter or Richards. Yeah, safe picks, but safe = more probable.

I'd be pleased if it was Carter, even happier if it was one of Giroux/Riemer.
I think Zherdev is going to surprise this year.

I'd go Richards then Carter.

Briere wont be close because he will inevitably be

a) injured
b) his usual non-playoff self

Briere is the kinda guy who elevates his game for the playoffs (see 09-10 playoffs) but for the people expecting the Hartnell-Briere-Leino line to be huge this year, you will be majorly dissapointed.
