Those jerseys looked awesome... should just go back to them without any modifications.

He was very strong in the prospects tourney, if you didn't get a chance to see. Finished off the tourney with Schroeder against the Flames had a couple of points.

No chance he makes the Nucks yet, but could be Moose bound.

Yeah, he will most likely make the Moose... but he's got a long road ahead of him if he wants to make the NHL.

Still if he keeps improving like he has over the last 12 months it's certainly a possibility.

Last season to this season is night and day on Rai's conditioning and on-ice awareness.

Should be an interesting game, physically. I'm really curious to see Hordichuk tonight (first time I've ever uttered those words). The guy has been an AV and dressing room favorite for a few years now and he seems to be really on the outside, looking in for a position. He's really going to have to show something in this pre-season in order to play here, or even play for a trade...or maybe he'll be content to play out his NHL contract in the AHL. I'm sure we'll see him square off against Ivanins or whoever wants to go.

Man I do want to watch the Flames vets play but also want to check out Shirokov, Sweatt brothers, Bieksa(I really hope he improved) and Tanev.

Decision Decision

Calgary has been practicing Iggy, Tanguay and the Jokester from the first moments of camp in an attempt to give them a leg up. Be interesting to see their chemistry...or lack of it.

I think these games are going to be rough, the Calgary game in particular. Glass, Volpatti, Hordichuk, SOB and Alberts in the lineup. I'm anticipating a lot of feistiness from Hordichuk as he said himself that was the way he would have to make an impact. Raitis Ivanans would likely be a game competitor.

The other interesting sidebar is that in both games, all the "4th line center" competitors are going at it in their positions. In Calgary Perreault, Bolduc and Bliznak are centering the top three lines, while Rypien and Morrison are centering lines in Vancouver.

EDIT: Man, poor Rai...getting stuck next to Schneider and Weller on the 4th line? Yikes.

Very interested to see how that Sweatt-Morrison-Shirokov line works in Vancouver, though.

I saw that too. Well if Rai can carry THAT line it will definetly be an impressive camp for him.

Might be something the Moose are looking at too, if he can fill a 4th line role. Still don't see why we signed Schneider, he's the ultimate project... BIG, SLOW, NO SKILL center.

I think that's what happens when you have a lack of competition at camp, under-whelming prospect depth and a lack of quality youngsters to try-out for positions.

i still can't decide how i'm going to approach this. i'm not sure i'm capable of handling the mental strain of simultaneously watching both games. hopefully the intermissions overlap nicely or something.

Yea this is probably the deepest camp roster we've ever had. Our scouting has done a much better job in the last few years. But remember not too long ago our pre-season hype was about Brad Isbister maybe playing with the Sedins. Or how Tommi Santala was gonna light it up after coming from Europe.

I can't wait to watch some Moose games this year. The team is gonna be full of Canuck prospects.

Based on really one goal either late in the game or overtime in pre-season. He really didn't show much of anything else in preseason and was pretty much a bust on all his previous teams.
