Nothing beats his tape-mask, though.

That's a pretty slick mask. I like it.

Aside from Parents and Pelle's masks which can never be topped that is the best Flyers mask I've seen.

As soon as I saw the thread title I was hoping to see the blank white mask. But hell, can't be disappointed with that thing of beauty!!

The mask is nice but if he doesn't perform to expectations this year...he's going to need a paperbag

Haven't heard anything; I wouldn't be surprised if he just kept up with his Revokes, though. He didn't get them until what, December? So they should have life left in 'em, and IIRC he was never one to get new gear all the time, unlike that guy up in Montreal...

What does it say on the bottom? Ends in "...asts" or "ast5"?

You mean on the chin?

Pretty sure it says Leights, just in script.

It's a pretty mask, lets hope it draws the opposing shooters attention away from his gaping five hole

Amazing how an innocent thread about a new mask can still turn into a hatin on Leighton thread.

What else are we going to do? We all still have the bitter taste of his five hole in our mouths.

Wait a minute...

Goalies go through multiple sets of gear per year. He's on at least his 3rd set of leg pads and has probably gone through 6 gloves and 6 blockers since coming to Philadelphia (Including practice sets).

I don't think some goalies go through gloves and blockers equally, haha.

Looked like a very unlucky mask on 2nd and 3rd goal yesterday.

Can not believe Theodore is still not in our camp.

Is there a bottomless check for equipment for the team? I would imagine that pro goalies must go through equipment pretty regularly like posted. The players don't have to pay for any of it?

I thought I'd read last September/early October that teams were trying to pull the plug on supplying sticks, etc. for players past a certain point to cut costs. Thereafter, players would have to pay for their own supplies. I am not sure whatever became of that.

In the past players needed to buy their own sticks but I think that went the way of the dinos in the 1980s. I am sure that only the dregs of the league would seriously consider this as a cost saving measure.

Can't say I'm really all that concerned for guys that make a league minimum of $500,000 may have to buy their own sticks. That said I'm sure that many of them get them for free from the manufacturers.
