I am sticking with my predictions.

I just wish someone would tell Jeff Carter that the 20 degree angle shot he keeps taking that ends up in an odd-man rush is flat out horrible. Drive the net and good things happen....

Keep scoring goals at the rate he has over the last two years, and he can do whatever he wants.

Q: How many players have scored more goals than him in the last two years combined.

It will be eye opening for you. Drive the net and good things happen my ass.

I still find his choice of Username here amusing.

Crosby had a career high mark of 30-something goals, he took the offseason and wanted to be more of a scorer, last year he led the league. You will see Carter never reach 40 again.

Ovechkin and Malkin I believe, but it could be Crosby...let's see...:

2009-10 Top Ten

Player Team Pos GP G
1 Sidney Crosby PIT C 81 51
2 Steven Stamkos TBL C 82 51
3 Alex Ovechkin WSH L 72 50
4 Patrick Marleau SJS L 82 44
5 Marian Gaborik NYR R 76 42
6 Ilya Kovalchuk ATL, NJD L 76 41
7 Alexander Semin WSH L 73 40
8 Dany Heatley SJS R 82 39
9 Zach Parise NJD L 81 38
10 Alexandre Burrows VAN L 82 35

2008-09 Top Ten
Player Team Pos GP G
1 Alex Ovechkin WSH L 79 56
2 Jeff Carter PHI C 82 46
3 Zach Parise NJD L 82 45
4 Ilya Kovalchuk ATL L 79 43
5 Rick Nash CBJ R 78 40
6 Eric Staal CAR C 82 40
7 Marian Hossa DET R 74 40
8 Thomas Vanek BUF L 73 40
9 Michael Cammalleri CGY L 81 39
10 Dany Heatley OTT R 82 39 33

Ovie and Parise, Kovalchuk....oh well. How about before the 46? Nothing is guaranteed, my prediction is he scores 30-35, but never again reaches 40. Still good numbers, no question, but the potential is for so much more.

Amusing or ironic? I would go with ironic. Just got to keep all the Cartsie fans in line.

After seeing him play with Powe and Nodl last night I just have to wonder what he would do if he consistently was centering a line with legit players. He does exactly what the center should be able to do and why I like Briere and Giroux at center so much, they can control the flow of the game. Giroux gets the puck in the offensive zone and can just slow it down and wait for the play to catch up.

Zherdev. He's not just a goal scorer with great hands. He sees the ice so well. The passes he made to Richards and Carter, he could top 25 goals and 45 assists on this team.

I stand by my post. Amusing. More satirical than ironic.

If I hurt people with my satire I apologize, but I would refer to my moniker as an ironic twist of a player so beloved by Philly fans in Cartsie

Meh. Not hurting me. Just found it funny the first time I came across your "handle" on a board discussing #17.

WTF are you talking about? Carter has been a target of criticism pretty much from the word go.

I imagine if you do a search on this site for "high and wide" or Jeff Carter with "missed the net" you'd turn up roughly 26,546 posts. And that's before getting into people *ing about his lack of emotion on the ice amongst other topics.

Anssi Salmela hated Carter's lack of emotion. I mean, he never saw or heard Jeff coming.

That is the first "hit" Jeff Carter registered in his career as a Flyer.
