Rangers-Devils Rookie Game

I am not sure where to put this but the Rangers are down 0-1 as Wiseman has scored 16 seconds into the game.

All updates should go in here.

@stevezipay 29 and with about 10 years of pro experience. Could make snarky comment about Devil's prospect pool, but will resist.

Gotta love Squishy

@TGfireandice

Perkovich (I think) scores with 1:16 left in first to make it 2-0.

Tremendous fight off the ensuing faceoff between Harry Young and Randy McNaught. Several big punches landed by both.

Doesn't sound like they are playing many rookies......

I am just glad there is already some bad blood in the game. Start the rivalry young.

@TGfireandice

Still 2-0 11:00 into second period. Rangers 0-for-5 on PP in game. Devils 0-for-2. Stajcer in net now for Rangers.

Swift (I think) scores with 7:44 left. PPG. 3-0 Devils.

Grachev, Thomas, Bourque, and Horak are the only guys with some legitimate offensive talent

But they still dont seem to be doing so hot

Yeah, they're all ****. Burn 'em.

No, it was a passing comment looking at the score.

@TGfireandice

McNaught and Stoesz fight with 7:33 left. Stoesz wrestles McNaught down. Not much of a fight.

Apparently, the Swift goal did not count for some reason. They didn't put it up on the board. It's still 2-0.

How is that dramatic? He said "a little depressing".... Getting blanked is depressing even if it's an exhibition game... We'd at least like some of our guys to do something that stand-out... Not to mention we'll probably get some ignorant Devils fans come tell us how much better their prospect pool is than ours with no consideration for who isn't playing in this game...

Cheers wolfgaze, really wasn't too sure what was supposed to have been dramatic about it so at least it's not just me.

TGfireandice
Robitaille and Klassen fight with 1:43 left in second.

Plenty of fights going on.

TGfireandice OK. They finally put the third Devils' goal on the
board now. It is 3-0 after two periods. Shots: Devils 26, Rangers 15.

TGfireandice Swift was officially credited with the PPG. For some
reason, the scoreboard operator was very slow.
