Wow, the Pens slipping to 13th seems ridiculous. Part of me wants to laugh that the Kings are getting ranked higher, and part of me wants to facepalm because it is such a terrible ranking that it makes the whole list feel worthless.

Well wouldnt that put them as the 5th seed in the east? I mean, they were 4th seed last year, and they did lose a significant amount of depth this year... I really don't see much of an issue here... maybe at best they should be 10th.. to compensate for west coast teams.

TSN justifies ranking Pittsburgh 13th because they lack depth, but the Penguins have always lacked depth in the Crosby era. It didn't stop them before.

Blues/Flyers at 12 and 11 respectively.

So we're in the Top 10.

So you're saying you don't think we're next ?

because technically speaking there are still TEN spots open

or did you mean since there's no way we're #1, it only leaves NINE spots left

What stopped them last year when they lost to the Canadians? Or when they lost to the Red Wings in the Cup.....one could argue the only time lack of depth hasn't hurt them was 2 years ago....

Most people here said we'd be #10. It turns out, most people were wrong......

In @ #10, the Bruins. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=29184

I had us at 10 so count me among the wrong. Of course, TSN is sort of crazy at times but hooray for us in this case. I could see us being considered higher simply because of our improvement last season and the fact that we got significantly better again (on the blue line) with signing WM. Add that with our depth and I can see us climbing up to 7.

I just realized, they haven't listed Phoenix yet! They better not put us lower than Phoenix, or I'll throw stuff around!

Awards:
Could be as high as 7th considering Buffalo hasn't been listed yet, and the Kings finished with more points than them last season. The team seems to be well liked.

True! I think, collectively, we underestimated our ranking. Does that mean we're currently underestimating our prospects?

Just for fun I'll call my shot...

9: Phoenix
8: Los Angeles
7: Buffalo
6: San Jose
5: Vancouver
4: Detroit
3: New Jersey
2: Washington
1: Chicago

And yet somehow they'll still no doubt find some way to screw it all up and piss me off

Phoenix is ridiculously overhyped. They aren't even going to make the playoffs. There is absolutely no way that can Tippett and the players can duplicate last season.

Why? Pheonix has a very good team. They finished ahead of us last year, wouldn't be surprised if they did again this year.

Whitney-Wolski-Doan
Upshall-Turris-Stempniak
Vrbata-Hanzal-Prucha
Pyatt-Fiddler-Korpikoski

Jovonovski-Yandle
Morris-Goncharov/OEL
Aucoin-Lepisto

Bryzgalov
Lababera

A nice lineup.

Well, they might make the playoffs, but I agree that Phoenix is overhyped. I am shocked that Pittsburgh is way down at 13th on TSN's list and that they think the Coyotes are supposed to rank well above the Penguins.

I may be expecting a lot out of the Kings this year but after seeing the teams that are remaining I came up with:

9: Phoenix
8: Buffalo
7: Detroit
6: San Jose
5: LA
4: Chicago
3: New Jersey
2: Washington
1: Vancouver

How the hell does TSN rank Phoenix ahead of Pittsburgh? They must be smoking some good hash up North.
