Finland and ICeland are both Nordic countries. Not Scandinavian.

Denmark, Norway and Sweden are Scandinavian.

nation on the Scandinavian Peninsula, Finland, is sometimes considered a Scandinavian country in common English usage, and Iceland and the Faroe Islands are sometimes also included.[2] The term Nordic countries refers to Denmark, Norway and Sweden as well as Finland and Iceland, and associated territories.
Maybe you should go reread it. Unless you forgot people that use this board speak english. For the longest time Finland was apart of Sweden also.

In English, casual and unofficial usage is to include the countries of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and often Finland and Iceland in the term "Scandinavia",[3][4][5] but the term is usually used to only mean Denmark, Norway, and Sweden within those countries creating some ambiguity in even English reference sources.
Quote:
While the term Scandinavia is commonly used for Denmark, Norway and Sweden, the term the Nordic countries is used unambiguously for Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland, including their associated territories (Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and the ┼land Islands).[9] Scandinavia can thus be considered a subset of the Nordic countries.

In addition to the mainland countries of

* Denmark (Constitutional monarchy with a Parliamentary system -- an autonomous constituent country within the Danish Realm)
* Norway (Constitutional monarchy with a Parliamentary system, independent since 1905, also including Svalbard)
* Sweden (Constitutional monarchy with a Parliamentary system, independent kingdom since 1523)

the Nordic countries consist of

* Finland (Semi-presidential republic, independent since 1917)
* Iceland (Parliamentary republic, independent since 1918, although in a union with and a dependency of Denmark until 1944)

and

* Faroe Islands (an autonomous constituent country within the Danish realm, self-governed since 1948)
* Greenland (an autonomous constituent country within the Danish realm, self-governed since 1979)
* ┼land Islands (an autonomous province of Finland since 1920)
How about you read some more?

Finland is definitely lumped in with Scandinavia, whether that's politically accurate, or not.

Regional maps, cultural organizations, and most of all, travel and tourism industries always include Finland in with the Scandinavia.

OnT: Lilja on a tryout is not a bad thing IMO. Competition for spots always increases motivation.

He is not going to retire.... Where some of you get that idea is beyond me. Its definitively stupid speculation to assume he will retire based on him trying to play a game that his agent put in his head, "wait and you shall receive." Now Lilja is scrambling to find a team. But retire? No....

Stupid speculation? It's based on these arguments/points:

1.) Lilja is done. Got nothing in the tank.

Just as an example to #1 (And #2),

(He's a good teammate, but outside the PK, he's a defensive liability. His significant concussion history is also an unfortunate consideration.)
2.) Injury prone, including concussion issues.

3.) Nobody wants him (See #1 and #2)

4.) He accepts a tryout with a team that is opening up their season in his native Sweden and has a classy GM who likes to do things like give players a swan song.

Now that may not be the case, but it's not "stupid speculation." If anything, it's hopeful speculation because god help us if we have a blue line with the likes of Lilja, Wallin and Huskins running around (or should I say, not running around) and we know that DW is a very classy GM.

Huskins? Would Lilja be an upgrade over him though? I dunno.
