I was thinking this very same thing at work earlier. He could put the puck into his own net and you would get the " I thought Guerin was one of better players" comment after a game. if Guerin gets in over a more derserving young player say like Holmstrom I wont be happy. I was all for giving him the tryout but hes looked like jack and **** in the 2 games. Time to take the old dog out behind the barn.

Walker looked like a toll booth on the commadore barry, wave the stick up and down and off you go on your way. Homer needs to put him on waivers, soon. Before he does something jones-like again.

As stated, the guy has a ridiculous size-skill package and I think he could be almost a one-of-a-kind guy on potentially a Nash/Thornton level, but sometimes the waiting can be tough.
Little late to get back to this one, but I was around and I guess I didn't engage in that battle, but I would have been fully on board with you guys.

JVR is a stud, he just needs time.

He's also seemed slow when I noticed him. Granted he could have been at the end of his shift, but I doubt that every time I noticed him this was the case.

Man, I want my ****ing phone company to finally ****ing fix the ****ing cable.

Sounds like I missed a fun one. 11 rounds of shootouts? Bobby-Boucher did well in net I heard and Carter was good too. Any other outstanding performances? I don't even know what the line-up was :/

No phantoms did anythin to stand out or distinguish themselves over any nhl. Bourdon i knew was slow but he really looks extra slow. Rinaldo accomplished his goal, he will have people talking about him. Testicles was invisible. Wonder if Legion is going to get more than a game in the preseason, he seems ot have fallen off for some reason.

Why is this news to anyone? The fact that some of you really think he was on a true tryout is funny. It was a done deal before he stepped on the ice.

My take on some players.

Test weed is definitely not ready and I'm not sure that he ever will be. Hopefully nerves played a large part because he did have one nice sequence in the 3rd.

Lehtivounkhhvalerizelepukin was impressive. I think he could make the jump very soon, if they choose him.

Bourdon looked pretty good, but a little slow.

Meszaros looked decent last night. I think he'll be a good addition to our core this year.

Bob still looks solid. I'd like to see him for an entire game. He's very poised. My biggest concern is that his glove hand seemed to be very similar to Carey Price's last night...

Has Guerin always been a floater like that? Christ! I'm still OK with a league minimum and 3rd/4th line minutes, I guess.

Carter was blah for me, again.

Actually, I cant think of one forward that stuck out to me. Pretty blah game IMHO.

P.S. I think Shelley is servicable and do not have a problem with him. Contract is a little high, but I'm OK with him. I hope people come around...

He looks like a decent 6/7 D-man to me. Reminds me of Alberts sometimes....some people may not like that.

Seriously? What were you watching?

Carter was twice as good as anyone on the ice last night (slight hyperbole but he was the best forward by quite a margin).

Guerin was so bad, they should have torn up his tryout contract on the ice.

I thought Bourdon was unimpresssive. Lazy on one particular backcheck, and is just slow.

You can not get disappointed from that pathetic SO display.. You may become public enemy #1 or a hater.

Remember 3 years ago such and such criticized JVR because he sucked in SO.

Carter should have had a few nice goals then. He was playing against a bunch of scrubs! I want more from him!

Guerin does suck....not denying that. Thats why I put the "I guess" on the end.

Bourdon was ok, Lehtivouri was the best D-man out there IMO.

two more adds:
JVR on the penalty shot???? haha (he'll be fine though)
Nodl still cannot finish....his game is nice besides that

I'm going to start selling 3" wide card paper in lengths on the internet. I'll market it as "Bottom Line Blocker" for application to the bottom of TV's. I'd make millions, maybe thousands.

I only got to see the last few minutes of the second and then all of the third. For as big a guy as he's been lauded to be (by the press, anyway), he's soft as puppy fur on D. I don't care how tough he is, fightwise. Nullify the opposing offense or go on waivers.

He was.And its kinda sad when guys like Meszaros, Walker, Carle and Bartulis were out there. I told people in the prospect thread. He barely makes any mistakes and loves to jump in on the rush and create something offensively. But hes smart about it. He doesnt do it 24/7, only when he knows they might have a chance to score. He got caught once when he tried going back post, and Carcillo passed it to the other team. He also played some solid defense for a small guy

I'd let Lehtivouri be our 7th.

I thought carter was the best forward and meszaros was the best defenceman. Hatnell also looked very good, walker should be here over bartulis I thought bartulis looked like a chicken with his head cut off out there. Walker is big, tough and just as good as bartulis. I was most pleased with Boucher great 2 periods

Very impressed with Riemer's performance. Bobo was ok, but carries the glove too low. He takes the 5 hole away quickly and as others have stated moves laterally quickly and fluently. Nice game for both tenders IMO.
