Possible

But I think it will be a wildcard unexpected winner this year

The expectations in Edmonton are extremely tempered. Nobody was expecting any of these three to so much as break 60 points this season, many of us think 40 points for any of them would be a success.
You guys aren't on your boards. Take it somewhere else. Flyers fans (generally) don't care about your team's expectations or hopes, you're not in our conference.

The Oilers, if nothing else, looks like they'll be pretty fun to watch.

I think I will be getting Fios. Does anyone have it?

Do you still miss Flyers games with Fios? Who has it?

I never miss a game. I get CSN in HD, MYPHL in HD, Versus in HD and CN8 regular. The most you have to "endure" is 8ish games on CN8 that are not in HD.

The internet is orders of magnitude faster than Comcast cable, too. I regularly get 1+MB/sec while downloading torrents with average seeds. I hit 3.5MB/sec one time when I was downloading a Matlab toolbox from a friend's torrent, should have taken a picture.

I have it in North Jersey. Love everything about it. Only downfalls I've found are that MSG isn't provided in HD (when Flyers play Devils/Rangers/Islanders, I can't watch in HD) and you have to commit to a 2 year agreement. Other than that, FIOS really blows every other provider out of the water. And this is coming from a guy who has moved a lot in the last 5 years and has tried Optimum/Cablevision, Time Warner, Comcast, and FIOS all in that time period.

Josh Harding torn ACL and MCL

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=335112

Quote:
St. Paul, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Wild announced Saturday that backup goaltender Josh Harding will need surgery to repair a torn ACL and MCL and is likely to miss the 2010-11 season.

Harding, 26, was injured in a collision midway through the first period of Friday's preseason game with St. Louis Blues forward Brad Boyes, who was checked into Harding by Wild defenseman Greg Zanon.

^ That is a horrible diagnosis. The ACL in itself can be critical.

These quotes paint the picture...

Quote:
Said coach Todd Richards on Harding: "This is a big blow to him and a big blow to us."

"You could see it on his face last night sitting on the table and his leg wrapped up and then on the plane ride home. I think you can tell a lot about the extent of the injury because the player knows. Theyíre so in tune with their bodies. Just his demeanor, you could see how down he was. I was definitely hoping for the best, but kind of expecting the worst just how he was."

Niklas Backstrom: "Itís more than teammates Ė itís your friend, your family Ė so for sure itís tough to see your teammate go down."

Savard, who suffered the concussion March 18 on Pittsburgh Penguins forward Matt Cooke's hit, returned to play in the Eastern Conference finals against the Philadelphia Flyers. Savard admitted Saturday that he probably rushed back too soon and blamed himself.
From a Boston area writer too.

Blowing your knee out as a goaltender is pretty devastating. That'll likely restrict his career ceiling to simply being a backup goaltender - increasing his chances of someday playing here.

Mark Streit left a scrimmage today with his arm in a sling after a check.

What do you guys pay? $99 for that triple play? tv, phone (why do I need phone) and net? You can't watch HD at all or you can't watch Flyers in HD?

Weird night for fighting in the NHL. Avery pusses out of a fight with Clarkson and then attempts to fight Kovalchuk, and Malkin fought Nash.
