He still has 62 PIMS.... And this is the first year that White has 100 + PIMS, so Conboy is just starting to understand the AHL. Next year, he will have 100 + PIMS. Mark my words.

Thought I'd bump this after tonight.

Looks like he improved his skating, and looks as hungry as ever. I'd love to see him as a fixture on the 4th line and PK.

Really liked his game tonight. I doubt he starts with the big club though, hopefully he gets a few call ups and ends up sticking a la lapierre a few years ago.

Sometimes he reminds of Brent Gilchrist, other times he reminds me of Terry Ryan. I have no idea what to make of the kid.

That's 2 terrible comparisons.

Anyways, i would love if White was able to take Moen's spot on the 4th line with Halpern and Lappy or Pyatt. He's hungrier, meaner, younger, cheaper and can replace Moen on pk pretty easily.

I think we'll see more of his offensive upside this year. He was a scorer in junior.

I don't think he'll ever be a goal scorer at this level. If he can pop in 5-8 goals every season I think we'll all be happy.

If he continues to hit everything in sight, stand up for his teammates, and play well defensively while also killing penalties..he'll be very valuable for us down the road (and now). I love this kid.

I think it's gonna come down to White or Darche for the final forward spot...I hope it's a decision based purely on pre-season/training camp performance, rather than contractual obligations (1 way vs. 2 way contract)

I have higher expectations than 5-8 goals.

So do I...I must say, Ryan White has come a LONG way since he was drafted. I think he's going to make it extremely difficult for the coaching staff to cut him.

Darche has the 13th spot. he's the veteran who's going to sit in the press box and not whine to the media about it

why will anyone want White to be the 13th forward ? doesnt make any sense

and i loooove white but not as the team 13th forward

agreed...but the way I see it

Cammy-Plekanec-Kostitsyn
Pouliot-Gomez-Gionta
Eller-Boyd-Moen
Pyatt-Halpern-Lapierre

are most likely to be the 12 regular forwards...you can play around with the lines any which way you want, but IMO, I think those 12 players will be there barring injury. Which means there's 1 or maybe 2 spots available

Darche has a 1 way contract so he's a keeper.

I don't think anything should be set in stone with him, 1 way contract or not...he's not in danger of being picked up on waivers if sent down IMO. So if he's outplayed, he shouldn't be safe IMO.

But I assume the coaching staff agrees with your line of thinking, even though I personally don't. Never quite understood the reasoning behind giving him a 1 way contract, a guy like Darche should never feel like he's 'arrived'.

Darche is the perfect 13th forward IMO.

We shouldnt have sign Halpern.

Maybe we could trade Moen?

If he's 'perfect' cause he won't complain when he's not playing...well, I think that says alot about him.

Personally, i'm not a big fan...but I don't necessarily have an issue with him either. He's pretty inconsequential if you ask me. I just don't see what added value he brings to the team.

also, I think Moen is fine...he just needs support, which is why I'd like to see White make the team. While neither he or Moen are exactly heavyweights, I think together they could support each other by playing physical on a 4th line.

Pouliot Gomez Gionta

Moen Pyatt White
