NHL or AHL, he's still getting paid $6.5 million per year. I don't see any "danger" in that. Just because he is overpaid doesn't mean he is bad. He'll get a solid contract with an NHL team when his current one is done.

Yeah you're probably right. I'm sure all players don't care about what league they play in. That is why NHL players are leaving for the big money in the KHL so often.

Because it's legal in the CBA that they can send him down? It's sort of like how the Kovalchuk contract is legal. As a Devils fans you should be the last people complaining when others use the CBA to their cap advantage.

The Devil fans have short memories. McGillis,Matvichuk.Marshall.Malakhov.Mogilny. In the case of the latter two,first year of their SPC's didn't count when they were assigned to the AHL. i have a hard time believing that you would have told sather that you didnt want to make 6.5 million a year and opted to take 4 million a year instead. blaming the player for getting paid too much is ridiculous.
