I'm not on the team. I didn't miss the playoffs by any points.

Seeing as how Elias wasn't playing in the game I'm referring to - I'm not sure how that relates to what I'm talking about at all.

Gotcha. I am guessing that Mac is icing this lineup because it is the first game at the Rock and he probably wants to put on a nice performance for the fans. At least that is what I wouldsay if I had to ratinalize his decision.

Good point - that makes a lot of sense actually. I guess I knew that all of their games so far were away, but I didn't put it all together.

Thanks for being polite in enemy territory - a rare feat.

my, that is a kinda weak looking lineup but with Hank in net, we have a great chance to win any game. No super solid blue liners but they are all NHL calibre players. I look forward to good things.

Byers-Anisimov-Grachev is a HUGE line. 6'3"-6'3"-6'4"

I like the fact that the devils are basically dressing there full team. It will be a good test to see how some of the younger rangers and the ones on tryouts do against them.

I like Byers but he has no shot at making the team. I dont think Torts has
even mentioned his name once during his interviews as a possiblity of making the rangers.

He was sent to Albany with the first batch of cuts. He never really got any time with the "starters" in training camp and didn't play in either preseason game. In the offseason, all of us wanted badly for one of our rookie centers to step in on that third line but Josefson was always the favorite for that role. He was playing against men in the SEL while Henrique played on one of the best teams in a league full of kids. He'll get time in the top 6 in the AHL this year most likely with Tedenby and should be ready to compete for that 3rd line spot next season.

We're going to get tea-bagged. Big time. This will be ugly.

Well it's only preseason, so it's not the end of the world either way. I think all of us are prepared for a blowout loss.

im a little surprised at how weak of a lineup we are playing. I would have at least put Stepan and McDonagh back in there again to get as many looks at them as possible.

Yeah I thought that too, or maybe even Frolov just to get some offense out there and let him see time with other players.

I'll go the other way. Defense plays well, Hank dominates, Devils out of sync.

Rangers win 2-1. Shootout.

Maybe they made the decision and both of them are staying with big boys.

This entire team is full of the borderline players who will possibly be the next set of cuts made. Does anyone else see that or is it just me? I have a feeling Torts and everyone will use this game to see some of these guys who are on the bubble and decide who is the next group cut.

Obviously some of the other players have made it past this group of cuts:
Gaborik
Dubinsky
Stepan
McDonagh
Sauer
etc.

If they weren't they would most likely be given the chance tonight to play and get the important minutes. To me its a great thing the Devils are icing a lot of their NHL players. Easier to evaluate who is ready and who should be kept around for a little while longer.

How do you figure we score a goal tonight?

Hank shoots a beautiful rocket into the empty net, which is empty since Marty went to go take a nap or something .

It's going to be funny when we win tonight. It's going to be even awesomer when we combine these two pretty much half teams and finally see the real roster!

I'm a bit disappointed with how we divided up our roster today/Thursday. There could've been much better balance, I think.

If the Devils cried that the Rangers beat their "AHL" team on Thursday, does that mean the Rangers are icing their "ECHL" team tonight?
