Right?

Note: it would be absolutely spectacular if it came out that he injured it prior to signing the contract, too.
Ask John LeClair.

Nope, that was just Leighton being Leighton.

I can't believe people are worried about this. The guy sucks as a starting NHL goaltender.

If he got this injury before he signed that contract, could everyone who has been defending Homer just admit they were wrong and kill themselves?

2 of our top 3 goalies have injuries going into the season that are likely to be nagging, lingering injuries. If he we had decent goalies to begin with, this would bother me...

Cue someone spinning this into another reason not to put all your salary-cap-eggs into one goalie/basket.

He didn't, it says he got it in the LAST GAME.

Oh, I know it was just Leighton being Leighton.

I'm not worried about it, I'm just waiting for it to reach an even more incomprehensible level of hilarity.

seriously why not Bobrovsky? is it just a case of too soon? I have read nothing but high praise about his game and he has shown it thus far as well.

Because the preseason and regular season against real lineups going pedal to the metal are two entirely different monsters. They're not going to hand Bobrovsky any sort of role until they're confident he can justify it, and they won't know that until they see him more.

Pretty much so he can get more acclimated to the nhl style, and get used to living in a foreign country. I hope by january or february he can be ready, but who knows.

He's pretty much winning his way unto the starting lineup if Leighton is hurt. I know alot of people here are gonna be pissed, but it seems like its whats gonna happen

Maybe Halak won't make the Blues?

Seriously, though, it's just high farce now. And talk about irony: Holmgren signs Leighton before FA starts so (I believe) he wouldn't have to worry about signing a FA goalie ... and even the lowest common denominator can't make it to the regular season.

Flyers goaltender = Spinal Tap drummer.
