what fantastic stickhandling and release by santorelli there in the shootout. We need that in the lineup.

Only watched the 2nd half of the game but we didn't look too bad. Grinded out a shootout win but certainly the kind of grind we'll need to do night in, night out to win games this season. Nice job boys!

Very nice game.. Loved the forecheck in the 3rd...

Olesz played awesome. Used his legs, body to protect the puck and created some chances out there awesome on the penalty kill too.

We won a shootout! Scored 2 shootout goals! Even if it's pre season this is a new feat

Santorelli really making a case to make the team too

Haha, our B (minus) team beat Boston's A team IN Boston. Still pre-season, better not get your hopes up just yet

Olesz really surprised me. He was very solid the second half of the game. Killed an odd man rush and just did an overall great job on the PK. I hope he plays like this for the rest of the season.

I only saw the game from the middle of the 2nd period-rest of the game; from what I saw, Olesz played well. There was a PK in the game where he spent about 30-40 seconds with the puck, wasting time/killing the penalty.

I really think santos is shining.. great acquisition by tallon.. hard worker.. great..hands..

olesz.. is making me think just a bit.. i think he needs to work harder and think more..

i would've liked to see grabs hit the net and shoot a bit more.. (didn't get to see the first half so ehh..)..fast skater.. almost passed through chara..glad he threw some hits around..

like benier's grinding.. looked pretty heavy with the hits.. good thing..try's to keep the puck in which we need..

reasoner looked great backing checking/ with the assist/ and on the pk...another great acquisition via tallon..

Gubs did not stand out to much for me.. i did not like how he gave up the puck after trying to rush up to dump the puck.. he got pinched dirty..
but a couple more games.. to me from the posts and the vid today he looks like a real threat later.. i want to see him push more in the upcoming games.. would'nt mind seeing him in the juniors one more year.. but if he proves he can hit the ice with the big boys then awesome..

so far this is my first preseason game seeing the cats and viewing the previous posts im happy were the team is heading SO FAR.. i excited to see them play through the season.. i really like the acquisitions that tallon got pushing forward.. i think we have some great talent coming through the pipeline..

Loved that feed, he seemed to have amazing timing switching games lol. Watching Santorelli in the shootout is all I need to see, come play with us, even as an extra.

Tallon has the right idea: get guys who WANT to be here and WANT to work hard.

I knew Reasoner was a great acquisition as well.

How did Ellerby do tonight? Noticed on the box score he played 24+ minutes and actually finished at a +1(+/-).

I only saw a little bit of the game, but from what I saw of Ellerby he looked solid. He won battles in the corners and did the little things well. Looked big. Definitely has put on weight.

Yep, and guys who work hard and know what it takes.

Btw, Murphy decided to add his own changes to the 3rd jersey. (other than the patches, he always puts 34 and a C on his jerseys, he has a ton)

There's plenty of guys who can go, and win, with Lucic, he just won't go with them. Laraque for one. Frustrating, to me, that we still don't have a guy who can compete with Lucic, much less enforcers. I love Lucic, actually, he's a great fighter, but he's not an enforcer.

FYI, saw the other day that Tarnasky was on the the Hawks' bench. Not sure if he's on a trial or not, though.

Olesz definitely started to play better towards the later stages in the game, good to see.

Loved seeing ellerby out there on the 4 on 3 to start the ot! Maybe deboer is gaining some confidence in the kid?!?

Surprisingly, especially from me, Ellerby looked pretty good. Now if he could only do that consistently.

Santorelli's shoot out goal was very nice, but I didn't see much out of him during actual game play.

Are there highlights of this game going up soon?

Sounds good to me boys. Glad to see we can comeback from a deficit. That's the kind of effort that we will need all year long. I also saw that Boston had like 3 or 4 guys from last year's Cats on their roster... Horton looks like he's primed to score 40+ goals this year.

Do you think Allen or Peters can take Lucic?
