I have never been a fan of Harding, as I felt he should have assumed a larger role with the club a couple of seasons ago and just didn't seem to be able to make it work.
That said, I wish no one to suffer an injury like this, especially on the heels of a nasty hip injury too. Dayum - best of luck getting back into game shape!
"GM Chuck Fletcher will be available tonight. He did tell me he's committed to keeping Dennis Endras in Germany this season. He's 5-1 with Augsburger. But Fletcher said Endras will fly to Finland for a few days to be the Wild's backup goalie." - russo
Well the one positive thing is that if Fletcher and co. decide to bring in another goalie, there's a buyer's market and plenty of NHL goalies to choose from.

Harding is the Wild's unluckiest goalie ever. Every time it looks like he has a chance to step up for the team, something happens to knock him back down...
Puzzling to me why Fletcher is showing such little confidence in Khudobin as a backup to a goalie that plays nearly every day. Anton is 24 and has played well professionally for three straight years in North America. What's the harm? If Backstrom goes down, we're in trouble no matter who we sign.

i don't understand why you think Fletcher is showing little confidence in Dobi...what has he done/said to make you feel that way?

What has Harding done to demand a sort-of a "sky is falling" response from Fletcher? All Harding has shown is that he can be good, bad, or injured. There shouldn't have been confidence in him either. It's hard for Khudobin to be much worse than that.

i still don't understand why you feel Fletcher has little confidence in Dobi. It sounded more like he wasn't going to jump the gun and look for a goalie out of the system which would imply more confidence in his abilities as a backup.
Anton Khudobin will get his first start in goal this preseason. As of now, Khudobin will be Nik Backstrom's backup for the foreseeable future. The Wild will want to see a strong performance from Anton to assuage some anxiety about the sudden departure of Josh Harding due to a knee injury.
Serious proposal: this forum should collectively send Harding a "Get Well Soon" card. I just feel awful for the guy.

Simple. It's just what Russo reported. Fletcher wouldn't state yet that Khudobin was his backup goalie. That says everything. Fletcher knows who Khudobin is. If he was confident in him as a backup goalie, a GM would say it. Heck, sometimes a GM says it even when they're looking for a different option!
okay guys, I heard the Wild got contacted by 5 teams and Jose Theodore is in Chuck Fletcher's top 8 goalies he is looking for. (According to RDS/Renaud Lavoie)
So, who could be his top 7 goalies? (excluding Theo)
