nice and classy of backes to spray him with a little snow while he's writhing on the ice

I have never been a fan of Harding, as I felt he should have assumed a larger role with the club a couple of seasons ago and just didn't seem to be able to make it work.

That said, I wish no one to suffer an injury like this, especially on the heels of a nasty hip injury too. Dayum - best of luck getting back into game shape!

He's likely to be there. There's a request of the Wild and their coaches are discussing that.

"GM Chuck Fletcher will be available tonight. He did tell me he's committed to keeping Dennis Endras in Germany this season. He's 5-1 with Augsburger. But Fletcher said Endras will fly to Finland for a few days to be the Wild's backup goalie." - russo

I'm guessing we'll see another goalie brought in on a 2-way contract.

Well the one positive thing is that if Fletcher and co. decide to bring in another goalie, there's a buyer's market and plenty of NHL goalies to choose from.

Manny Legace or Ray Emery

I think the wild should sign one of them and let Anton Khudobin sart in Houston.

Harding is the Wild's unluckiest goalie ever. Every time it looks like he has a chance to step up for the team, something happens to knock him back down...

emery has avascular necrosis and had hip surgery last season, i'm not exactly sure he's the kind of guy anyone wants to sign.

You guys should claim Macyintyre or Mannino off waivers from Atlanta, both had really solid numbers in the A last year.

I think we're kind of crammed with goaltenders.

Puzzling to me why Fletcher is showing such little confidence in Khudobin as a backup to a goalie that plays nearly every day. Anton is 24 and has played well professionally for three straight years in North America. What's the harm? If Backstrom goes down, we're in trouble no matter who we sign.

i don't understand why you think Fletcher is showing little confidence in Dobi...what has he done/said to make you feel that way?

What has Harding done to demand a sort-of a "sky is falling" response from Fletcher? All Harding has shown is that he can be good, bad, or injured. There shouldn't have been confidence in him either. It's hard for Khudobin to be much worse than that.

i still don't understand why you feel Fletcher has little confidence in Dobi. It sounded more like he wasn't going to jump the gun and look for a goalie out of the system which would imply more confidence in his abilities as a backup.

Yeah that was what I got from him and Russo. It's just everyone else throwing out "Goalie X to Minnesota" which muddies up the water.

Serious proposal: this forum should collectively send Harding a "Get Well Soon" card. I just feel awful for the guy.

I personally think that Fletcher is not a fan of Dobi because his agent may have whispered those terrible three letters ... K-H-L

Simple. It's just what Russo reported. Fletcher wouldn't state yet that Khudobin was his backup goalie. That says everything. Fletcher knows who Khudobin is. If he was confident in him as a backup goalie, a GM would say it. Heck, sometimes a GM says it even when they're looking for a different option!

okay guys, I heard the Wild got contacted by 5 teams and Jose Theodore is in Chuck Fletcher's top 8 goalies he is looking for. (According to RDS/Renaud Lavoie)

So, who could be his top 7 goalies? (excluding Theo)

How about these:
Jeff Deslauriers
Vesa Toskala
Tomas Greiss
Chris Osgood
Erik Ersberg
Brent Johnson
Patrick Lalime
Scott Clemmensen
(Andrew Raycroft)
(Dany Sabourin)
(Joey MacDonald)
(Martin Gerber)
