Souray or Redden?

Pretty simple: Would you rather have Sheldon Souray, Wade Redden, both, or neither?

I chose neither. I think we should focus more on developing from within.

Souray.... I have read most of the articles; so what if he's a bit of a hot head, union type, prone to injury and a guy with a big mouth-his numbers over the years tell the story. Club CBJ (as in Club Med) needs some leadership and vocal folks in the room, not to mention the guy can play tough hard core hockey when healthy and score goals on the PP.

Is he the guy for the next 10 years? No, but for now this team must get the job done and after watching tonights game our power play sucks... we need a guy like Souray to (help) get us over the hump this season.

I'm just trying to picture the apocalyptic meltdown that would happen here if we were to get Redden. Not sure my imagination gets that wild.

It will never happen imo, he blew it last season. My opinion now is that he's over the hill.

I voted for Souray, but I've become more and more fine with holding tight with Commie as training camp has progressed.

But I have no hesitation in passing on Redden...

Tyutin for Souray. Anyone else catch when the Pens commentator said that Tyutin "looks like a little kid out there?"

Souray. Do you want mistakes that, thankfully, did not happen a few years ago to happen now (with redden)?

That's not bad. Add in Clark to EDM and a high round pick coming back and you've got something. CBJ need the $ going out to be roughly the same as the $ coming back.

Caught it, but I think he meant that Tyutin was shadowing Crosby (riding his ass, in other words), as that's what I noticed him doing at the time. Was doing pretty well at it, too, though Crosby managed to shake him off and make a pass/shot (can't remember) in the end.

Klesla for Souray? If we had to trade a Dman & ended up keeping Commie, it would still send a chunk of money the other way.

I'd rather see Tyutin go than Klesla, personally.

I'd be all for trading Tyutin and keeping Commodore - at least with Commie you have a guy that can play alongside a guy like Russell and be the stay-at-home presense. What the hell is Tyutin's job even?

Not surprised Redden's not getting any votes - I just figured that since we discuss bringing in every other defenseman in the league, why not make a poll?

I would be on board with Tyutin and Clark for Souray. My only concern is that we now would have two injury-prone (not my words) defensman in our top 6 (Souray and Klesla). I would actually rather trade Klesla/Clark for Souray. That way if Souray does get injured it would be just like we kept Klesla

This is a no brainer. No on in their right mind is going to take Redden, even on re-entry waivers. Talk about a major slide in production from that guy. He'll be bought out and either re-signed later in the year for a bargain basement price by someone who needs possible PP help, or go to the KHL.

Neither thank you very much. I think the "devil you know" is the far better course of action right now and Commie is looking pretty good at the moment. Seems like his new - old training program is donig the trick.

I chose neither. I don't particularly like the second bit about Commodore being our guy, but Redden has shown he isn't worth Half of what he's paid and Souray seems to me to be the next Bryan Berard here.

Bottomline: For a fan base that has argued so much about payment for so called "Offensive Defenseman", Neither Redden or Souray's potential production in Columbus would justify the salary they are recieving.

If you don't know what Tyutin's defined role is, that is because he is asked to be every role all at once.

Tyutin for Souray would be a horrible deal.

I agree, that would not be the trade I would want to see. Tyutin has a much better chance of fitting in and being productive in Arniel's more aggressive system than Commie does. I'm pleased with how Commie seems to be starting out, but I'm not convinced that he'll really be able to keep up with the increased pace that will be necessary for this year's blueline. I think Fedor is better suited to that and, even though he's off to his typical slow start, his skating ability and offensive skills may be more valuable, eventually, than the physical style Commie brings to the ice. Right now, though, I'd say it's looking more and more like what we have is what we'll start the season with; so Mike and Fedor both figure to be around for the time being.
