Atlanta residents will never be fans of Nascar hahaha, It's a city, full of people not from Georgia.
Southern Georgia is a different story though hahaha, people love it there, and some Northern Georgia towns do too.
I actually don't mind it, but it's boring as hell to watch, not bad to attend. I'll always be a hockey fan first though.
And Raleigh is a city full of people not from NC
Gotta get this back on topic, we could really use a list like this for the tools that say the same stuff about the Canes fans.
Hey, you guys got the cool fire breathing thrasher bird, what other team can claim that?
I came over here to ask you about your opinion on Christoph Schubert and Johnny Oduya so far.
Thanks in advance!
I've been a fan of both. Schubert has been much better than I was expecting. He's a perfect 3rd pairing guy. Big, strong, and he plays a relatively safe game. If only he was healthy. Oduya has been on the "shutdown" pairing with Hainsey since he came over and has been very good. Hainsey no longer has to spend most of his time covering Bogo's foul-ups and he plays a more relaxed game because of it. I'm glad to have them both on the team.

Nice to hear that. But i guess that Schubert is going to have problems at getting back into the line-up? As you say he's a third paring guy, but that spot is blocked by Hainsey and Oduya. And from what i know about the Thrashers i can't imagine one of the first 4 defenders out of the first two pairings being benched. Any chance that he gets his spot back from someone this year? (
Hey all, I have a question for you. I'll be in Atlanta from Wednesday-Sunday for a conference. Will I have a problem grabbing tickets for the game Saturday?

You should be able to find scalpers outside. But walking up to the ticket window......doubtful. The home finale usually sells out, add to that it is the Pens and I am pretty sure it will be sold out.

Do you think I'll be good if I try to go Wednesday or Thursday? I don't like either team, so if I don't go it's not that big of an issue. Being a college kid, I don't have a ton of extra money to spend on tickets.

The Thrashers have deals for college students. You could try to go by the arena ticket windows during the week and see if you can pick up one of the college priced tickets for the Pens game. The Caps game on Friday is at their place, so I think Saturday is your only chance unless you are going to try to go tonight. You could also go to the team website and call one of the ticket brokers who works for the team and see if they could help you.
We have another poster who uses scalpers a whole lot more than I do, I can't remember who it is for some reason, but they might be able to give you some more tips for dealing with them than I could. I do know the poster hardly ever pays face price or more for tickets though.
Hi, I'm a Caps fan doing a SE Division roadtrip this October - I am going to Thrasher's game on Friday, Oct. 29th vs the Sabres. Would tickets likely sell out for this game? And is there adequate parking at the arena? Also, is the area around the arena safe?

plenty of parking, and pretty safe for the most part as long as you stay on the beaten path.
Buffalo games always sell really well (thanks to some of us transplants & their fans travel south well) + being a friday night..tix will likely be available up until game time, but you might want to buy in advance or just use scalpers (they sell pretty cheap down here)

On the bright side you guys have some nice jerseys. And yes, I'm including the alternates.
your eyes need correctional surgery then. our home jerseys were murdered by the edge change and our thirds are just fugly. i wish we wore our whites all the time.
My brother lives in ATL and I was planning a visit in November. There is a Hawks/Thrashers game the weekend I'm going to be there and would like to treat them to a game. Which end do you guys shoot at twice? I would like to sit in your end but will settle for the other side if we have to. Is there a certain section that brings drums...like when you guys road trip to RBC, I'd prefer to avoid that one. Thanks guys and looking forward to seeing your arena and team.

The attack twice end is the east end, sections 119-122, 216-222, 316-320. The loud chanters are the Nasty Nest who sit in 320, but their numbers have dwindled.
