It hurts being a Kings fan most days...
That guy also had 39 wins and a GAA less than Luongo. Only on HFB is a goalie with 39 wins behind that defense considered mediocre

Hmmmm. Not that I know as much as you guys do about what's going on with this team and the players on it. However, Quick certainly was average for the latter half of the year and in the playoffs when it mattered most.

Anyways, even if Murray does stay with Quick with Bernier outplaying him, isn't there people in upper management who want Bernier in there? Thought I might have read that somewhere.

PS. Andrew Raycroft had 38 or so wins for us in his first year with us. Where is he been the last few seasons? Also. SV% is a better marker of how well a goalie plays IMO.

That had more to do with him being worn out from not getting a break. He played 72 games in his first full NHL season. You dont get 39 wins by accident. Too many are expecting Bernier to come in and play crazy hockey and beat out Quick. Bernier is going to have to prove himself to beat out Quick for the #1 spot.

The only way Bernier takes over the number one spot this season is if Quick gets injured for an extended period of time. Maybe next season, at earliest.

Terry Murray isn't infatuated or even remotely loyal to Quick. Everything TM and DL say and do reguarding the goaltender situation is in some way for BERNIERS's development. While TM may not gift wrap the #1 spot for Bernier he's not going to hinder him either. IMHO Quick is about 5-10 soft goals (not counting the two in preason so far) away from losing the the #1 spot.

Man, so much Quick hate...and the season hasn't even started yet.

I think Bernier's gonna take over at some point in the next year or so, but it's disgusting to have so many "I told you so"s actively rooting against Quick just so they can try to be right.

I know, right.

If Quick thrives for 50 games and JB does well for the remaining, they are golden.

Kings fans apparently don't even know who they have on their own team. At least this one. Quick is an NHL starter. Weather its LA or another team. Would LOVE to have him be Edmonton's franchise goaltender.

Amazing how some still do not get this. If Bernier is the best goalie on the team that gives the Kings the best chance to win night in and night out this season, he will play the majority of the games for the Kings. He isn't getting anything handed to him though.

I am not down on Quick at all. With Quick and Bernier the Kings probably have the best tandem in the NHL.

If you're talking fantasy hockey if you draft Quick you have to handcuff him with Bernier. It's hard to build a winning team if you take a goalie in the early rounds and he ends up being the backup.

Jonathan Quick vs Jonathan Bernier

Hello guys, I just want to know what is the goalie situation for this year. I will do my fantaisy pool tomorrow and I expect a big season for the Kings. Unfortunatly, Im realy afraid that Bernier could play a lot of games. What do you think? How many games each keeper will play?

We've been told that it will be Quick as the starter with JB picking up around 20 some games. That said, JQ has a couple of issues that have to be addressed or he could lose his starting job pretty *quickly*.

Quick is number one until he completely sucks and or gets hurt. He has earned the right to be number one, now if he's going to keep it, we will see.

I know, gawd forbid that anyone have an off game during the preseason.

If JQ doesn't work out that softie face off circle shot pretty quick he will be doing allot of watching and we will be having to rely on our prodigy way too early on in his young career.

OMG he might lose a pre season game! It's not like Quick couldn't win a game down the stretch last season.

Bernier will get 20-30 games. Quick will likely be #1 this season. Whether or not he remains there depends on both his and Bernier's play for the next two seasons.
