Kings and some team, 8-3 Final.

I think the Ducks defenseman needed more Gatorade...

But seriously, how excited were you when Simmonds and Clifford made love after that goal???

Quick observations:

Loktionov > Schenn. He's just better because he's smarter and his puck handling is superb. Schenn needs to stay on his skates and maybe add some more strength. Great fight over Sbisa**** though.

Muzzin > Hickey > Drewiske. Muzzin was also paired with JMFJ who had a really good game. Johnson OWNS the Ducks. Hickey was ok, Drewiske looked like an AHLer tonight. Muzzin looked pretty good IMO.

Bernier > Quick. 2 soft goals to end the third???!?!? This guy is my whipping boy for the rest of the year.

Poni > Frolov. Big body, decent skater kept it simple on the 3rd line. I like him because he has no drama, but I also will be rooting for Frolov.

Richards & Williams were awesome together.

Clifford & Simmonds could be the greatest thing since boobs.

Schenn, Lokti and Clifford all did well tonight. TM has some tough decisions to make.

Nice to put it down on the ducks but that looked like the kings playing against a midget team or something

A few things:

- Thanks KV.

- Loved the 2nd line, hope TM keeps it together for FF.

- PP Picked up right where it left off last season.

- 3rd line was very solid.

- More of the same from the top line.

I am going to the game on Sunday. I am worried that after Vegas the Kings will be tired and the Ducks will be looking to avenge this loss. Also I think if EE gets a game it will be Sunday. No way they want to play him Saturday and have all you drunken slobs boo him.

Gonna be a fun year Kings fans. All the haters stay away, cause this train is gonna run you over.

I hope Hickey makes the club too, Drewiske looked shaky.. If DD44 keeps playing that way, he'll be losing a spot.. Hickey-Muzzin sounds ok, Drewiske-Hickey is probably what'll happen on opening night.

Parse is just.. iunno what to say.. I don't really think he should be the 2nd line LW, Loktionov has been playing his ass off all preseason and off-season, he deserves that spot or any other spot on the roster

Smyth-Kopitar-Brown
Loktionov-Stoll-Williams
Poni-Handzus-Simmonds
Richardson-Schenn-Westgarth
Lewis, Clune

I don't think separating Richardson and Williams would be wise after the clinic they put on tonight.

Maybe...

Richardson - Stoll - Williams
Clifford - Handzus - Simmonds
Poni - Loktionov - Westgarth

Amazing game. The only person who noticeably had a bad game was Drewiske. He better watch out or his job will be stolen by one of the young guys.

I think each rookie had a turnover or two, but like I said they all brought something to the game. Right before Clifford fought, I said he would be the one not to make the team. Schenn and Lokti outplayed him IMO. Muzzin looked great, Hickey looked good, but was a little quieter. Someone mentioned earlier, Muzzin might have shined because JJ was a BEAST tonight. This team ran on all cylinders.

I'm worried about these weird lapses of Quick's. The only good thing is, we have a better backup this year in case he falters.

Let's hope they saved some goals for Saturday night! I'll be disappointed if we lose! I'll be there!!! WOOT!

Murray has a TOUGH choice to make.

My favorite line tonight:
Richardson - Schenn - Williams

All the lines were fun to watch, but I really liked the hustle of the second line. Stoll & Parse may start as the 2nd line center and LW, but wouldn't be surprised if this line was our 2nd line by the end of the year.

I'm scared about Murray keeping Schenn around and then not playing him at all.

Loki deserves a spot. I'd take Muzzin over Hickey. Let Hickey get big minutes to start the season in the AHL. He hasn't played all that much recently.

Neither Hickey or Muzzin were outstanding, but Drewiske stood out in a bad way on that first goal. Muzzin looked a little lost a couple times as well. The knock on Hickey is still size and strength, he played well against the smaller forwards, there was a particular part in the 3rd where he knocked Koivu off the puck but I still don't feel like he'll be effective against the bigger guys. On the Drewiske turnover, Hickey was behind Parros and although there isn't much anyone could do in that situation, a bigger guy like Greene, Scuderi, Johnson etc. would have at least been able to pressure Parros from behind a little more. Again not much anyone could have done, but more size/strength would have helped Hickey a little. All in all I'd rank them Hickey, Muzzin, and then Drewiske but the first two need to do more to prove to TM that they can handle the NHL and until they do so Drewiske's got the edge over both of them due simply to experience.

Tonight it was a good night to be a Kings fan. The vets played ok, the kids played great, the present looks good and the future looks better. Was it an illusion? only time will tell.

I doubt whether Schenn stays or not will be Murray's decision.

I don't see anyway he gets sent down until Greene gets back. Neither Hickey or Muzzin have earned a spot yet so I can't see us keeping both of them and sending Drewiske down. Keep Drewiske and one of the two, and they battle out for the spot while Greene is on the IR. Greene comes back, loser goes down or sits in the box.
