I think he is less content since he found Leighton will be out a month or more with a bulging disc.

Yea....I forgot that. You are right about Greiss then. I suspect they will hope we waive him. Reminds me of the logjam when we had Kipper, N. Sheaffer, and Nabby. Difference is Greiss hasn't the pedigree that Kipper had. He might be worth more had we played him a few games last season.

Flyers are against the cap though. They want to sign Guerin but if they took on Greiss, it might make it difficult to sign Billy. May require a second move for them.

Holmgren said this a while back, and now Leighton is hurt and probably won't play for at least a month. While I agree that Philly is a long-shot, I wouldn't rule out anything yet.
How much would a deal make sense for New Jersey to trade Salvador for Greiss (+?) and then dump Hedberg into the minors.

New Jersey Cap:
-2.9 (Salvador)
-1.5 (Hedberg)
+0.5 (Griess)

Salary issue over with almost a million cap for a young defensive prospect.

We could even keep Huskins if we went insane and role 20 man for 5-6 games and bounce Couture and Mcginn up and down the minors for a decent amount of time.

I need to stop trying to think outside the box because this is probably a rather dumb idea in real life.

1) Salvador sucks.
2) We can have him for a 7th rounder - why waste Greiss?

Yeah I don't want Salvador either. What do people feel about Zanon? I think he's their alternate at the moment, but considering he's an UFA after this season, what are the chances that he may be on the trading block? Haven't really had the chance to watch him play much so for all I know he could be another 5th/6th d-man, but the A must mean something right?
The only other person I'd want from the Wild would probably be Zidlicky but he seems like too much of a staple for their team, and his cap hit is a bit large. I think I'd rather have Carle than Barker too.

It makes sense for New Jersey to dump Salvador for sure but the difference between Hedberg and Greiss is only 500k due to the Hedberg 500k bonus being allowed to go over. They're libel to look elsewhere for the remainder of what they need to shave...maybe Dainius Zubrus.

Wasn't the logjam Nabby-Toskala-Kipper? And while Nabby was holding out, Kipper had the #1 spot but played quite poorly and nothing really indicated he would do too well in the NHL.

I'm glad other teams are interested in our goalies, because I'm certainly not.

Better trade Greiss before he ascends into heaven.
