So, this time, our GM is actually making the right call and our coach (who I've previously had no problems with) isn't? **** this ****.
Holmgren actually does have a solid eye for talent. I think it is just often focused in the wrong direction (we need an enforcer! we need another 6th d-man! Yay!) or he is pushed to accept garbage deals since he is so woefully inept at managing the salary cap and draft picks.
But, that being said, if Homer thinks one of the kids has more to bring to the table than Bill Guerin, then he might know what he's talking about.
i dont think guerins a fourth line player. but i dont see any of the guys currently auditioning in a 3rd line role. its still a pretty big field for those last couple spots and i have the feeling some of them could be hanging around for a while. thier contracts also allow for some flexibility i dont know if holmgrens the kind of guy whod run a veteran through the paces just to waive him in december. 3rd line winger is still a big old questionmark this far into camp
You need to relax a little son. Whether Guerin makes the team or not you better just hope the right decision is made whichever it may be. But if Lavy sees something in Guerin I'm more inclined to agree with Lavy then you guys. But its really nothing to get worked up over.
Exactly, I had wanted to move Carter to get a goalie, Homer did not agree, now if Carter goes out and proves me wrong and they win a Cup I will gladly eat my words and hope Homer can figure out how to pay for him with all the excess salary he took on this past summer. We offer opinions on what we think we know, but the reality of it is we are all armchair QB's offering our opinions while the coaches and GM's make the tough decisions which can result in them either keeping their jobs or getting fired.
Why is it that so many wants to split up Carter and Hartnell? I mean - those two have been behind most your ES scoring for a couple of years.
Still having 'love issues' ?
It was also brutal last season, it may be time for a change and put Hartnell with another pair and see if it works, the Leino-Briere-Hartnell line seemed to click so I would assume this will be the first choice.
they both want to dictate the play. as much as they are similar players they have very different styles. richie excels when hes reading and reacting while carter does better with posession.
I believe that was down to richie's linemates last season. Gagne was never fully fit, carcillo was a trainwreck. Richie in the olympics looks very comfortable as a secondary scorer on his line. He worked very well with Toews and has played well with Rick Nash before. He also plays well on the PP with carter strangely. I have a feeling Giroux is really going to explode this year. He's already developed chemistry playing with Zherdev in preseason
